THORATEC CORPORATION is a Medical Devices Division of Abbott Laboratories that develops, manufactures, and markets proprietary medical devices used for mechanical circulatory support devices, particularly in ventricular assisted devices (VADs).

Our location in ZURICH, SWITZERLAND is currently looking for a SR. FINANCIAL ANALYST to support our Heart Failure Operations.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This position will be partnering closely with Operation leadership and various levels of business teams to help maximize division margin for the business unit and drive financial ownership, cost efficiency, and business excellence.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Developing budgets and forecasts in support of annual Standard Cost setting and quarterly LBE (Latest Best Estimate)
  • Performing VAT, income tax and variance analysis and identify key drivers for support of business performance improvement and strategic decision-making
  • Creating and maintaining annual Standard Costs and provide financial analysis monitoring
  • Performing monthly accounting responsibilities for month-end close including journey entry preparation, spend/headcount review, and reporting of month end results to management
  • Conducting regular financial reviews with business partners to communicate financial performance and key business issues and provide valuable insight to help business achieve financial goals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience
  • Great communication skills and ability to articulate results based on audience
  • Good English and German language skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and proactive, setting high standards for success
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Quick learner and adaptable to changes and new environment
  • Resilient to ambiguity

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting or financial planning and analysis experience
  • Advanced user of Excel (e.g. Pivot table, common Excel functionalities), Word, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced knowledge of/experience in SAP ERP and Hyperion Planning/Essbase systems.
