IMPORTANT: This role has a hybrid configuration, you will be required to work from our office (Ticino, Italian Swiss region, close to Mendrisio) for 3 days per week. We are a small startup and want to be flexible but at this point we strongly value spending time together to brainstorm and quickly iterate on our product. Mendrisio is about 50 min from Milan and 20 min from Como or Varese by train. The swiss taxes make the net salary particularly attractive for people living in Italy (You pay :20% taxes on your salary)

We are a product company and we use a variety of technologies, mostly AI and NLP, to change how companies and people design their careers.A typical day in this roleAs a Frontend Engineer, you will be a critical part of our team and you will build with us the first version of our platform, touching 100% of our frontend and influencing the future direction of our company from a product and technology perspective.On any day you will find yourself working with the existing team and founders on brainstorming our existing roadmap, our products and our technology: we are building something particularly ambitious and we value everyone’s contribution. We iterate fast and we love to keep the team motivated and always up to speed on our vision (why are we building this?).You will work side by side with our product designer and so with the rest of the team on planning and implementing new features daily. You should expect to ship software every day, adding small and constant improvements to our platform.Expect to be challenged by our vision and the execution of implementing it, both on the product and tech side.Last but not least, as part of a new growing company, you will learn a variety of things across sales, marketing, product and team management.About Us And The Existing TeamWe are a small team of 5 people (founders + 2 developers and 1 product designer) with several years of experience in building software and scaling businesses - this is our third company and we have created and managed companies up to 250 people. You should expect a flexible but very focused and active environment where you have the opportunity to have an impact every single day. There is little time for long-term decisions and long analysis, so the perfect candidate does have a strong sense of urgency and likes to move fast and have an impact. As we know from our previous startup experiences, this is the perfect opportunity for someone that wants to grow fast, learn how to build products and have an impact.We are building a set of unique products, leveraging AI to change how companies and people manage their careers: our first software component (not published yet) leverages AI to simulate real environments at scale.You will be joining our founding team, so you will be among the first 10 employees at the company.Compensation and location

• Compensation is composed of a base annual salary and stock options with a 4-year vesting and 1-year cliff - a classic model for startup vesting
• Our salary range for this position is between 60 and 80k/year CHF - we can go slightly higher for unique candidates.
• The equity compensation is particularly good as this person will be part of the founding team of the company.
• Anthropos - like the companies we started before - is flexible and we care a lot about our people’s growth, you should expect to grow and learn new things daily - we are building new products and experimenting with a ton of advanced technologies in the world of AI. Anthropos is currently working with a hybrid approach, with 3 days per week spent in the office (Ticino, Italian part of Switzerland) and 2 days working remotely. We aim to be very flexible in our approach to the hybrid model but we strongly believe in having a team that gets to spend time together in the same room at this stage of the company.FAQsWhat kind of contract will I have?A Swiss full-time contract for the IT industry. It includes pension, insurance and the usual benefits you would expect from a full-time contract.How far is it from Milan or Como or Varese?:50 minutes from Milan, and :20 min from Como or Varese by train or car.How flexible are you on working from home/office?We have a hybrid flexible approach, which means coming to the office 2-3 days per week and the rest from home. We are small and we trust the people we hire, so you should expect flexibility when you need it (e.g. you need to work from home for a full week because of a personal situation).Is it convenient for someone living in Italy to work in Switzerland?Yes, you might have heard of "Frontalieri" - 60,000 people are crossing the border every day to work in Ticino and they are called Frontalieri. Salary taxes are much lower compared to Italy (:20% or less depending on your situation) and you get a higher net salary.Tasks

• Brainstorm and build new products or iterations of our existing platform
• Build functionality interfaces that connect to the backend.
• Work with our entire team on ideas validation, design and product development.
• Own your work from prototyping, development, testing, and deployment.
• Be a subject matter expert for the front-end application and for things you have built.
• Create documentation for critical architecture decisions, development, and deployment plans.
• Constantly contribute ideas to the product roadmap and priorities, being a strong voice in our team.
  

Requirements

• Experience building high-performing React/Next.js applications is required.
• 5+ years of relevant/professional experience is preferred.
• Strong passion for building beautiful products that solve customer problems
• Experience working with APIs and integrating with React/Next.js applications required.
• Solid experience in building responsive front-end applications from scratch
• Good knowledge of mobile application design and implementation and mobile-optimized web development.
• Experience working in a self-managed agile workflow.
• A keen eye for design and a desire to build beautiful user experiences are required.
• Experience building a responsive front-end application from scratch is preferred.
