About Our Client

Our client is fast growing start-up company active in the development of sustainable energy technology. We are looking for a Strategy & Corporate Development Director to support the company’s IPO plan.

Job Description
  • Defining the Group’s capital allocation and financial valuation "rules" and methodology through the Responsible for the identification and understanding of applications for both current and future products and technologies
  • Strategic analysis and review of business planning
  • Working with R&D teams to translate technology specifications into estimated performance in real world applications
  • Working with Product owners to profile key companies and relevant stakeholders
  • Design, scope and then management of supporting pieces of research with contracted 3rd party organizations
  • Integration of multiple data sources to create final recommendations for Leadership Team / Product owners
  • Communication of findings and recommendations to management team / board via presentations and memos where appropriate
  • Lead material preparation for fundraising rounds (incl. complex financial modelling)
  • Strategic analysis and review of business planning
The Successful Applicant
  • Top educational degree in physics, chemistry, engineering, business administration or related field. MBA or PhD is a plus.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a Strategy/Management Consulting or Investment Banking role.
  • Ideally having supported growth topics in a top Strategy Consulting, Investment Bank or Corporate Development/Strategy department
  • Collaborative mind-set and comfortable working at all levels of the organization and keen to roll his/her sleeves up and get stuff done
  • Exceptional communication skills and able to communicate complex ideas in a simple fashion
  • Strong analytical and business development skills, gained from consultancy firms or blue-chip companies
  • Commercially minded, numerate and have experience working in highly ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • Significant experience in financial modelling (excel)
  • Background in science and technology preferred, with an understanding of the basics of chemistry/ physics / electrical engineering being beneficial
  • Fluency in English; other European languages (in particular German) a plus"
