Would you like to work part time alongside your studies? Are you interested in being part of a stimulating research environment which is responsible for sigma, the most world-class publication in the insurance industry? We are looking for a keen and dedicated student to carry out data manipulation/curation and statistical analysis to support our team of economists in preparing reports and presentations.
About the Role
As research assistant you will support the research activities within the Swiss Re Institute.
Your main responsibility is to support our economists with basic research operations, such as:
data sourcing, transformation, cleaning and input into our databases
general internet and database research
processing data/information requests from inside and outside Swiss Re
helping to create our external and internal reports and publications, including background statistical analysis.
ad hoc support for administrative staff in their daily work
About You
General qualification for university entrance/ enrolled at university
Affinity with mathematics/quantitative data analysis
Basic knowledge of economic and accounting principles is helpful
Strong practical knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint are a must
Preference for candidates with prior experience with statistical software (e.g. R, Python) or programming languages
Proficiency in German and English, other languages welcome
Team worker, high ability to learn, accurate, flexible
Dedication to stay for two years (temporary position)
