What you’re going to do

Our internal IT located in the Group Services Enabling Unit is organized around SAFe and consists of around 50 members with the duty to design, develop, maintain, and support our wide variety of internal IT services. Distributed over five international teams, the services range from self-developed applications, hosted and cloud applications, on-premise and cloud IT platform technologies to services around the office and workplace.

As System Architect you serve as the technical lead for the internal IT called GISS (Group IT Services & Solutions). Your major responsibility is to steer the ART by giving guidance and alignment within the organization. You continuously evolve the system architecture landscape with the teams, are at the forefront for vision and integration, help managing risks, and are involved in critical enablers.
Together with business owners, product owners, and other stakeholders, you help ensuring strategy and execution alignment. You serve as an information, compliance, and security authority within the unit.


The following tasks await you:

  • Aligning the architecture with business priorities
  • Defining and communicating the architecture vision
  • Evolving the system design with teams
  • Fostering built-in quality and attending to NFRs
  • Supporting DevOps and the continuous delivery pipeline
  • Creating system architectures and defining the overall architecture of complex integrated systems (technology environment: e.g., Windows, RedHat, Networking, Azure, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, GCP, AWS)

What we’re looking for

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree (University, ETH, FH) in computer science, or similar (HF)
  • Several years of experience in systems engineering and integration, in particular experience with cloud adoption
  • You are familiar with state-of-the-art system architectures
  • Lean agile, analytical mindset and quick comprehension skills
  • Good communication skills, as well as structured and analytical approach to work
  • Fluent in English
