About the role

You will be a member of Group Tax, specifically reporting to the Director Group Head Office Tax and be part of the DACH team (Switzerland, Germany and Liechtenstein). You´ll closely work with the Group Tax Operations team, Transfer Pricing team, Finance, Tax Technology & IT and other colleagues across the Swiss Re Group, especially within Switzerland.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide tax accounting and reporting support for select Swiss legal entities constituting of quarterly income tax reporting and management of corporate income tax compliance
  • Support Swiss direct tax audits and investigations by tax authorities
  • Support in execution of the Transfer pricing policy on a regional level
  • Collaborate with wider Finance function and key business partners to understand business strategies and pro-actively identify and communicate tax opportunities and/or risks
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of uncertain tax positions and develop and implement tax mitigation strategies
  • Develop and lead the regional implementation of tax initiatives including IT projects to improve tax processes, strengthen automation and common data platforms
  • Ensure work is organised and undertaken optimally and efficiently, working with the Group Tax Operations team in Bratislava on corporate income tax compliance and reporting tasks

About the team

The role is within DACH tax team responsible for Switzerland, Germany and Liechtenstein, and is part of the Group Head-Office Tax team. The DACH team manages corporate income tax compliance, reporting tasks and advisory work for the region. Moreover, it provides advice and guidance on day-to-day queries and offers more complex tax advice and analysis to support specific transactions and projects, including IT transformation projects, and provides any necessary lobbying in tax matters.

About You

  • At least 3 years of meaningful work experience in the field of tax advisory, compliance and / or reporting, preferably within the global financial industry
  • A degree in Finance / Accounting / Tax
  • Good understanding of Swiss corporate income taxes, ability to research tax laws and make recommendations to ensure full tax compliance
  • Experienced in tax accounting practices (USGAAP and/ or IFRS), tax controls and processes
  • Strong Excel and systems skills as well as analytical abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - being able to communicate confidently and effectively with business partners, tax colleagues, tax authorities and auditors
  • Proactive teammate, able to plan and prioritize own and team´s workload, willing to take on new challenges with aim on deadlines
  • Fluency in English and German
