Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. Our unit Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems. We ensure the high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods. For our Power Products division at the Zurich-Oerlikon site, we are looking for a competent personality who need to lead an international team of diverse people within our high-voltage product organization. In this position we offer you a lot of freedom with occasional travel. Your responsibilities

• Leading the team of 10 Engineering Project Managers in Switzerland and 6 Lead Engineers in our Operating Center (virtual team lead).
• Overall responsibility for the successful execution of our project portfolio of projects from handover from sales through engineering, production to handover to service. Overall Technical and Commercial Responsibility of the portfolio (Cost, Time, Scope).
• Responsible for a structured project review and definition of contingency measures.
• Improvement of the execution process in engineering and engineering project management, optimization of the process along the value chain with coordination of the involved departments in Project Engineering, Project Management, Field Operations, Supply Chain and Production
• Leading Design Optimizations and Cost Savings with the defined Design-to-Value process.
• Leading Initiatives, living a culture of innovation and driving change
• Willingness to travel (10%)
• Reporting to the Head of Project Engineering

Your background

• Solid experience in engineering of primary Equipment at level of Lead Engineer or excellent technical experience in the field of gas insulated switchgears
• Experience as team lead or functional lead with readiness to take over role as team lead
• Proven experience in Project Management, Certification e.g. as PMP is a plus
• Fluency in English and German, any other language is a plus
