For our Headquarter in Oftringen, we are currently looking for a:

Technical Service Manager & Innovation (Construction) - Region Europe

Job main responsibilities

  • Assume prime management responsibility for Technical Service activities at assigned accounts and prospect accounts.
  • Provide effective and necessary technical support to drive execution of key MDI (Market Development and Innovation) projects.
  • Visit customers and work with them to optimize the use of Omya’s products.
  • Develop customer relationships with key production/technical personnel.
  • Focus on influencing (selling) key decision makers.
  • Report on work being done with customers using CRM (and other tools as needed).
  • Provide guidelines, conduct reformulation work, Technical Service consulting and trainings for internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Promote new products externally in the Area (active participation in trade shows and conferences)
  • Manage trials conducted at company lab and pilot equipment as well as at customer lab/plant and third-party facilities.
  • Assist respective segment sales manager with the development and revisions of sales plans semi-annually.
  • Create, maintain and develop long term partnerships with relevant local technical associations and principals as well as suppliers.
  • Deliver ideas for new product innovation and about new business opportunities for existing products as well as escalate issues and conflicts to supervisor.
  • Implement/execute segment specific strategies and new business initiatives (launches, roll-out projects etc.) in the region/area upon directives as received from supervisor

Candidate profile requirements

  • ​Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
  • Five or more years of experience in relevant field of laboratory, sales or manufacturing.
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbally) on all levels with customer and company organization.
  • Personality with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated success in implementing new products to existing or new customers.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Project Management skills and proven track record of successful execution of complex projects.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and oral) is required, additional languages (particularly relevant local languages and German) are a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% and work extended and odd hours as necessary for meetings, trials etc.
  • Possession of valid driving license​
