About the role & team

We are implementing a new systems and processes to support the financial closing for the (Re)Insurance business through the Olympus Programme. The (Re)Insurance and Investment Squads are driving the development and implementation of the new end-to-end processes and systems for integrated economic and traditional financial reporting, from source to sub-ledger and general ledger, using the innovative ’baseline delta’ calculation approach. The focus of upcoming years will be on Local IFRS roll out for selected legal entities implementation and rollout of the IFRS accounting standards for Swiss Re Group.


To facilitate the implementation, testing and roll out, we have set up an agile structure with (Re)Insurance, Investment and General Ledger Product Areas. As part of Olympus Testing CoE we have defined testing strategy and testing standards around DevOps CI/CD. Test Managers are responsible to plan, orchestrate and coordinate the end-to-end testing within the Product Area and across multiple squads, to ensure the quality and consistency of the product.


Tech stack used in the Product Area: Kafka, Microservices, Junit, Azure DevOps, SAP S/4 Hana, SAP FPSL


Key Accountabilities


  • Create test plans and test cycles within the (Re)Insurance Product Area and align them with other teams (e.g. General Ledger)
  • Communicate test plans across the squads and ensure corresponding test execution
  • Keep track of the current test cycle status, identify issues, dependencies, and potential customer concerns
  • Keep management team up to date with the testing status on frequent basis through formal test progress management summary
  • Work closely with the Test Managers from other Product Areas as part of Testing CoE within Olympus to ensure end to end testing
  • Liaise with Test Mangers outside of Olympus (e.g. from Tax and Group Submission areas) to ensure end to end IFRS testing Promote a test-driven development approach
  • Instills a ‘shift left’ mentality to testing – making it part of every process
  • Drive testing standards, testing automation and consistency across the Product Area
  • Act as ambassador for testing standard methodologies
  • Ensure test cases and expected results defined and documented according to standards
  • Ensure each squad follows the different level of testing stages, within a Product Area
  • Coordinate test environment requirements and orchestrate test environment provisioning and readiness with Platform squad
  • Coordinate issue triage and resolution across squads

About you


  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in finance or (Re)Insurance large transformation projects
  • Understanding of finance processes, accounting, ideally in the (Re)Insurance industry
  • Awareness and experience in agile way of working and DevOps software development approach
  • English proficient written and spoken
  • Passion for communicating and implementing testing standards across the teams.
  • Understanding of IT test environment set up, processes and release management. Having experience with the tech stack being used is an advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to network and understand the workings of the project.
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills
  • Able to navigate ambiguity
  • "Hands-on" working style with "Can do" attitude
  • Good understanding of testing standards, testing levels and best testing practices
  • Able to work well under pressure
