The Opportunity



The Underwriting Assistant reports to the Operations Manager Switzerland with the key focus on service delivery and ensuring our clients have the appropriate level of support, acting as the key point of contact for policy issuance and program implementation across the network of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions by working closely with many internal departments and external partners.


This position is also open as a part time opportunity to work in a job-sharing set-up for those that are looking for a lower working degree contracts (40%-80%).


Responsibilities

International Programs Service Delivery
  • Drive international programs implementation activities and ensure quality, consistency, and first-class service delivery
  • Facilitate transactional business and coordinate policy and invoice issuance process using our IT Tools
  • Responsible for Pre-Quote/ Pre Bind Processes, Service Exceptions, Issuance of endorsements between Producing Offices and our Local Offices and Network Partners.
  • Supervise and report on operational program performance and address issues to ensure agreed service levels are kept within agreed tolerances, taking vital actions where required by early identification of bottlenecks
  • Liaise with Technical Accounting teams to understand cash position across program portfolio and support provision of information and updates to the client
  • Collaborate with Claims teams to ensure the efficient and timely exchange of information with the client
  • Regularly interaction with external customers (brokers/insureds)

Policy Administration
  • Keep up to date information in systems and tools
  • Prepare policies, certificates, invoices and all other contractual documentation
  • Conduct initial deal analysis and prepare applicable account data including Tax calculations and follow-up outstanding premium positions
  • Compile, sort, review and verify data accuracy using source documents, detect errors, and initiate correction while following-up with customer or process owner regarding any inconsistencies found.

Project involvement
  • Collaborate on the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures, systems and tools improvements, and testing/ piloting changes

Requirements
  • Knowledge of Commercial Insurance Contracts is a must and knowledge of the administration of International Insurance Programs is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Casualty and D&O lines of business as well as Insurance Accounting principles
  • Ability to adapt to changes in tasks and priorities
  • Quality focused, attention to detail and solution oriented, ability to identify and report problems
  • Passionate about delivering excellent service to our customers and brokers
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Goal-orientation and dedication to continuous learning
  • Team collaboration, ability to build and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural environment
  • Minimum of 3 years similar job experience and understanding of Insurance business in the Swiss Insurance market and Multinational Program Business in particular
  • Any further education is an advantage
