A small, fast-growing, highly dynamic, entrepreneurial, education and consulting company is looking for the right person to employ as a 10% Part-time Coding Specialist.

The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver who will work in coordination with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain our next generation websites and web tools. You must be comfortable working as part of a team while taking the initiative to take lead on new innovations and projects.

1. Position Description

1.1 Your responsibilities:

• To actively progress the completion of various ongoing coding projects, that are key to the successful growth of the company’s business operations.
• Creation of new websites.
• To prioritise the focus of ongoing coding activities, by enhancing the ability and agility of the company in rapidly completing its various ongoing and future coding projects.
• To take the lead in progressively developing coding expertise within the company.
• To maintain a succinct overview of all ongoing coding projects.
• To drive the implementation of future coding projects that are designed to grow the company’s business operations.
• To create functional specifications that are needed for new coding projects.

1.2 Place of Work:

• The company’s offices in Gland, Switzerland, and/or from your home office.

2. Your Professional Profile

2.1 Technical Expertise

• Extensive expertise in WordPress coding.
• Extensive expertise in PHP coding.
• Extensive expertise in Database coding.

2.2 Commercial Expertise

• Ideally, the candidate should demonstrate commercial savvy or show an aptitude for e-commerce.
• Ideally, the candidate should have some practical expertise & experience in the successful launch of an online sales business.
• Ideally, the candidate should have expertise and experience in setting-up a sales funnel.
• The candidate should have a portfolio of coding projects to share.
• Ideally, the candidate should have an entrepreneurial mindset.

2.3 Human Skills

• Good listening skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Effective people skills - nice to have.
• Emotionally intelligent - nice to have.
• Empathetic - nice to have.

2.4 Languages:

• English (Need to be fluent, with written and spoken knowledge) - compulsory
• French (Need to be fluent, with written and spoken knowledge) - compulsory
• German, Swiss-German, Italian or Spanish (with some written or spoken knowledge) -ideally.

2.5 MS Office Computer Systems:

• Sound operational knowledge of Microsoft Office – compulsory.

3. Career Development Plan

• A career development plan will be established for the selected candidate.

4. Proposed Start Date

• As soon as possible.

5. Contract Duration

• After a 1-month probation period, there will be a performance review with the option of a long-term agreement being established for the right person.

6. Activity Level

• Initially this is a temporary position - with a 10 to 40% occupancy rate (= 4-16 hours per week), with the intention being to get to know you well and well as for you to be able to get know the company.

7. Working Conditions

• Some activities need to be performed on an independent, individual basis, whereas other activities are required to be done in support of project teams.

9. Work Experience and Swiss Work Permit

• 1-2 years of previous work experience in the domain of coding.
• Fully at ease in writing code in the domains of digital advertising, marketing, and sales.
• The candidate must have some professional experience, with a valid Swiss work permit.

10. Level of Education

• Attendance of a coding school, or university.
