PeakData is a Swiss-based AI startup (text data analysis at scale) on a

mission to alleviate the burden of bringing new therapies to patients faster and more efficiently. With HealthcapeTM we equip pharma

companies with comprehensive and real-time web information about healthcare providers across the globe. This opens a completely new level of capabilities for Pharma companies and speeds up the time it takes for an approved new treatment to benefit patients.

As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Data Science team lead to join us. An ideal candidate would be a person with great communication and management skills and a software engineering background who is passionate about both data engineering and data science aspects and has a solid knowledge in NLP.

Tasks

Technical lead of a data product
  • Have ownership over the planning and development of a data product area
  • Actively contribute to development
  • Align technical priorities with company goals
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and act on them
Manage a team of 4-6 engineers
  • Help grow a team of machine learning engineers
  • Empower and motivate your engineers on an ongoing basis
  • Mentor and support your team with challenging Software and ML solutions
  • Foster intra and inter team communication and embedding into the overall company vision
Requirements
  • You’re a fun, curious and open person with a growth mindset
  • Proven ability to plan and lead project-based work
  • Previous experience building and managing a team - BIG PLUS
  • Awesome communication, collaboration, and self-management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in data engineering and/or machine learning
  • Experience in Python-based data analysis and pipeline development, e.g. pandas, pyspark, AWS lambda
  • Experience in backend development in Python – BIG PLUS
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for code quality and documentation that follows best practices
