In this role, you will contribute to Takeda’s mission by having the ability to lead effectively and work concurrently across multiple projects in a goal-oriented, timeline-driven, and dynamic work environment, while ensuring quality and accuracy. A typical day will include:

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

  • Finance representative on respective extended Leadership Team, responsible for influencing and achieving financial KPI’s and budget/forecast targets.
  • Business partner to External Site Leads and Site Function Leads.
  • Administer the annual cost change process including gathering inputs from various sources, allocating cost to products, and presenting cost change impacts, insights & solutions to finance and business partners.
  • Responsible for regular cost maintenance activities including new product codes, costing methodology updates, work order analysis.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Finance representative on respective extended Leadership Team, responsible for influencing and achieving financial KPI’s and budget/forecast targets
  • P&L co-ownership for functional cost/ FTE, OCOS, Standard Costing calculations for externally manufactured products and Inventory Values.
  • Perform financial analysis, scenario and decision support to demonstrate impacts to product costing for investment or business change considerations. Apply analysis to co-create innovative solutions that enable the site to achieve financial results.
  • Provide monthly reporting packages including variance explanations to the Finance Lead Oncology.
  • Executes the annual standard costing process for Oncology ES SM.
  • Deliver high-quality insights, integrated decision support, predictive scenario planning and step-change solutions for Oncology ES SM.
  • Co-ownership of planning and forecasting process to yield accurate results and stay in budget.
  • Meet the fiduciary and statutory responsibilities and obligations, overseeing statutory reporting and compliance requirements, providing oversight of period end reporting, stats and tax returns submissions where required.
  • Continuously enhance the controls environment and ensure adherence to all policies. Oversee local SOX & controls planning, implementation, remediation and risk assessment. Engage in collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Work collaboratively with the Oncology extended leadership team to provide financial insights on manufacturing performance, local risks and opportunities, predictive scenario planning, new products, and transformation initiatives.

DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of accounting for external manufacturing activities at CMO’s. Solid understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing supply chain (API, drug product and FG).
  • Knowledge of standard product costing including costing systems and processes.
  • Analysis of costing at bill of material and consolidated levels.
  • Cost and manufacturing accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to successfully manage, organize and analyze large volumes of data.

  • Relationship management – establish productive relationships with own group and cross-functional teams. Ability to effectively articulate ideas and problem-solve across a variety of settings.
  • Business & Commercial Acumen – understand, articulate and define the basic issues and trends affecting the company at the regional and global level, including opportunities and risks. Remain abreast of important business updates and understand the implications and risks.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance. CIMA, CPA, Masters in Finance or MBA education preferred.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotech Industry, including cost accounting experience with exposure to manufacturing and/or supply chain.
  • Minimum of 5+ years accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment with strong cost accounting background.
  • Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements affecting other stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with all levels and disciplines of people within a large organization.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to persuasively convey critical elements of complex issues.
  • Strong analytical skill with ability to analyze and understand large amounts of data.
  • Excellent computer software and systems skills ((TM1, SAP, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Office Suite –Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access).
