For our client, a growing startup in the biotech field, we are looking for a :
Head of Medicinal Chemistry

Location: Zurich (Schlieren)
Start Date: 2-3 months
Contract: Permanent

Main objective:
As Head of Medicinal Chemistry you will be leading the medicinal chemistry efforts of the company
You will be working with a dynamic and high-performing cross-functional team committed to cutting-edge science in a state-of-the-art incubator laboratory environment situated in the heart of Schlieren-Zürich’s burgeoning Bio-Technopark

Your Main Responsibilities:
Define and execute the scientific strategies in close collaboration with a cross-functional team of drug discovery scientists

Drive hit and lead optimization to clinical candidate selection through in-house as well as external CRO chemistry

Diligent capturing and documentation of results and securing intellectual property in a timely manner are a key remit

Contribute to the preparation of internal reports as well as publications and represent the company at scientific conferences

Your profile:
Dedicated and accomplished medicinal chemist with 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry

PhD and postdoctoral experience may be advantageous but are not a requirement

Profound understanding of the key medicinal chemistry concepts and the drug discovery process

Solid experience in drafting patent applications

Strong background and track record in organic synthesis

Experience in the collaboration with CROs and oversight of external resources

Excellent oral and written communication skills, proficient in English both verbal and in writing

Self-motivated and enthusiastic
