Job Description

We, a fast-growing and dynamic tech company based in downtown Zurich, are looking for a passionate and hands-on Head People Operations to start as soon as possible in our Zurich office.

As Head People Operations you will support our international team (employees in Zurich, Germany, Sweden) in all areas of Operations and report directly to the Head People and Organization. You will have one direct report and your peers on the HR Leadership Team will be the Head of Talent Acquisition and the Head of Talent Development and Culture.

Your mission is to align with business stakeholders to develop and implement policies, procedures and best practices to enable and support further growth of our Company.

Your main accountabilities:

  • Leading and being accountable for all operational and administrative people tasks for our Company (currently approx. 100 FTEs and growing fast), both locally and internationally.
  • Designing, developing and implementing processes, policies and systems.
  • Ensuring that end-to-end HR processes support a positive talent experience at all times.
  • Overseeing the Company’s vendor relationships including operational / HR system migrations, payroll and benefits.
  • Processing new hires for payroll, benefits enrolment, and ensuring proper notification to other departments involved with security and network access.
  • Processing leavers, including preparing accurate and relevant documentation and updating systems accordingly.
  • Being responsible for employee documents, electronic files, data changes and maintaining accurate employee data in the HRIS system.
  • Cooperating with Talent Acquisition and People and Culture with various assignments.
  • Liaising with local and federal government bodies where necessary.
  • Acting as the Company’s representative for internal and external audits.
  • Working closely with Global Head HR on various projects.
  • Creating detailed reports on HR costs.

You have:

  • Several years of relevant HR experience, ideally in a fast-growing, agile and international small to mediumsized enterprise or start-up.
  • HR degree of higher education (e.g. HR Fachfrau / Fachmann or Dipl. HR Leiter/in).
  • Full proficiency in MS Office products, common HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of Swiss Labor Law; knowledge of labor law of EU countries will be an advantage.
  • A solid and practical understanding of GDPR and HR Compliance.
  • Experience in dealing with an international workforce.
  • The ability to exercise good judgment in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • An independent, pro-active/entrepreneurial working style with a can-do attitude and a willingness to do hands-on work.
  • Resilience. To use a common metaphor, "We are building the plane as we are flying it." Many of our processes and policies are not yet carved in stone; you will need to develop them and shape them.
  • Experience and willingness to execute administrative, operational and strategic tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in English and German.
