Manager Transport & Logistics - Destination Operations (m/f/d)

Purpose

For the assigned market, proactively take the lead to ensure that the performance and execution of the global transportation activities are in accordance to the agreed SOP and SLAs.

Understand the transportation requirements of the adidas Group’s stakeholders and translate those into service deliverables and system/data requirements towards GLD/procurement4PL / LSPs.

Contribute to the development and management of new tools, processes, projects and SOPs in order to maintain/improve service levels, reduce costs, reduce complexity and to deliver a high level of responsiveness and flexibility.

Key Accountabilities

• Proactively take the lead to ensure that the performance and execution of the end-to-end global transportation activities (ex-factory to DCs) across different ship modes are in accordance to the agreed SOP and SLAs.
• Take the lead and work with the various stakeholders (market team, GLD team, Global Supply Chain functions, Finance, Procurement, 4PL and LSPs) to resolve any issue that arises.
• Manage all operational escalations with the various stakeholders in a proficient, timely and effective manner.
• Actively participate in Monthly Business Review with 4PL/LSPs based on aligned KPIs.
• Participate in Market Business reviews which include KPI reviews and continuous improvement topics.
• Contribute to the development and management of processes and SOPs in order to maintain/improve service levels, reduce costs, reduce complexity and to deliver a high level of responsiveness and flexibility. Standardize, align and constantly re-assess global transport requirements on vendor portfolio, operational processes and connectivity / data processes to support business growth.
• Continuously educate the markets on global processes and policies. Develop and implement potential continuous improvements activities.
• Contribute to the implementation of new transportation solutions within the market.
• Support the integration of 4PL/LSPs into the adidas Group’s system landscape.
• Support in establishing agreed logistics processes, KPI’s and cost reduction targets.
• Support supply chain projects from an operations and process point of view.

Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience

• Ability to solve practical and theoretical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Team player, high degree of self-management, enthusiasm, drives to perform. Self-starter, ability to work and build cooperation in a multinational team / matrix organization, very strong in negotiation and finding compromise.
• Strong record of successfully applying problem solving and project management skills including good planning and organization.
• Understanding of the bigger picture and end-to-end supply chain.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and in writing, to interact effectively and efficiently on different layers of the organization.
• Ability to work and deliver in changing environments, under very limited guidance while adhering to specified deadlines.
• Extensive knowledge of the Ocean, Air and Land transport markets and processes.
