We cover key areas such as Finance, HR, Office Management, Legal, IT, Operations, etc. If you are a smart, ambitious and dynamic professional with a strong passion to make a real difference in the fight against climate change, the below position may be right for you!Job summary:The objective of the Climate Solutions Operations team is to enable Climate Solutions penguins to focus on the business and the clients while relying on smooth processes, tools and support. We do so in a variety of ways:- We continuously evolve the way we work, maintaining existing tools and processes and developing new ones.
- We convey global processes and policies and apply them with the required local business acumen.
- We take over daily support work such as resource allocation, quality checks and approvals.
- We maintain data quality and liaise with the Data & Insights team to run analyses that support business decisions.
- We accompany the teams’ growth and support the People & Culture team with recruitment, onboarding, performance management and training.
- We prepare and moderate board calls, strategy meetings, etc and act as sparring partners to our internal counterparts.
- We support regular team meetings and learning sessions.
- Build and manage the Climate Solutions Operations team, to successfully meet the evolving needs of our business partners. This includes scaling the team to maintain service level to a fast-growing business line, aligning its structure to the CS organization, with clear go-to-persons, roles and responsibilities, and deploying resources to meet the most critical needs.
- Oversee the onboarding, performance management and career development of CS Operations team members. Continuously improve the underlying processes, in collaboration with the HR team.
- Be responsible for higher than average employee engagement scores.
- Line manage 4 CS Operations Seniors.
- Represent Operations in the business-line-level governance bodies, including CS Executive Committee and CS Board. Represent CS Operations in company-level governance bodies when relevant, including Masco. Contribute to steering the business, relaying information and representing top management in the CS Operations team.
- Ensure a stable working relationship and an effective interface with Corporate Services (in particular HR, Finance, Legal, Digital Transformation, Enterprise Technology and Data & Insights), to ensure that the business line’s needs are understood and covered.
- Be a sparring partner to the Global Head of CS.
- Convey the needs of South Pole’s senior leadership and board of directors towards the Climate Solutions business line. Coordinate delivery by different CS stakeholders.
- Facilitate the definition of Climate Solutions’ 5-year strategy, and coordinate its annual reviews. Design, organize and moderate workshops with CS Executive Committee and Strategy Committee, leading to high-quality strategy and strong buy-in by senior leaders.
- Advise the Global Head of CS on governance and organizational matters, including the definition of CS governance bodies and their mandates, and the vision of the CS matrix organization.
- Ensure consistency of CS and South Pole’s vision, organization and governance, including authority matrix.
- Define, monitor and execute CS OKRs.
- Oversee development of CS KPI dashboards, in collaboration with the Data & Insights team.
- Coordinate CS annual budget and headcount plan, and their quarterly updates, in collaboration with the HR and Finance teams.
- Oversee monthly and quarterly reporting across the business line, including producing the CS quarterly report, coordinating quarterly business reviews between the Global Head of CS and members of the CS Executive Committee, and providing guidance for a consistent set of monthly and quarterly reports at a functional and regional level.
- Implement the CS matrix organization, including reporting lines, roles and responsibilities.
- Assist recruitment and calibration of individual performance reviews for the CS leadership team.
- Manage internal communication between CS teams, including oversight of monthly operations newsletters, and steering of monthly reports’ content to foster information sharing.
- Design, prepare and facilitate internal communication from the Global Head of Climate Solutions to the business line and other units at South Pole. Moderate monthly CS townhalls. Coordinate with the Communications team to develop internal communications platforms and formats suited to different topics and audiences.
- Maintain a flow of information, in collaboration with different internal (and external) stakeholders, to utilize communication platforms and events in the most effective and valuable manner.
- Produce regular and ad-hoc reports to South Pole’s senior leadership and board of directors, including on CS strategy, OKRs, financials, other business results and key initiatives.
- Represent the Global Head of CS and the business line in internal fora.
- Lead operational tasks reaching across CS teams, including facilitation of weekly calls reviewing, approving and staffing consultancy opportunities.
- Coordinate with other business lines’ operations teams for smooth and aligned processes.
- A university degree, ideally at a Master’s level or higher.
- Extensive relevant work experience.
- Experience in operations management at complex, fast-growing organizations.
- Experience working and leading teams in an international and multicultural context.
- Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing new processes, tools and systems across regional and functional teams. Change management experience.
- Strong drive and desire to help solve one of the world’s biggest challenges - climate change - with best-in-class processes, tools and ways of working.
- Strong quantitative skills and the ability to use data and metrics to inform decisions.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand the needs and the quickly evolving business reality of internal stakeholders, and to contribute to the development of sound, effective and efficient solutions.
- Strong organisational skills – Ability to multitask, focus and prioritise.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills. Enjoy working with and supporting others. Experience working with senior leadership.
- Excellent financial and planning skills, with experience coordinating budgeting, target setting and business monitoring processes.
- Excellent oral and written command of English.
- Experience in scaling up a fast-growing team, including recruiting, onboarding, training, managing performance and motivating the team.
- Advanced skills with the use of the MS Office Suite, Google Suite, Salesforce, DocuSign, IT platforms and technologies.
