General Description

  • The business project manager is responsible for the roll out of the Rhine program in Europe, as well as the scoping, analyses, design, and implementation of future flows into the network of European supply to its end-customers.
  • The PM will work on a cross-functional level with the key users and department heads of Commercial Distribution, Finance, QA, VAT, Supply chain, GTS, Regulatory and legal to ensure that the Target Operating models for each flow meets the collective requirement of the company.
  • Will run the cross-functional country launch meetings keeping oversight on the actions required to meet the deadlines for product launches into the various EU markets.
  • For implementation of new or improved flows, works closely with internal departments such as Distribution, Supply Chain, and Countries to ensure that the process improvements as well as new flows are implemented in the SOW with the external partners (3PLs, e-invoicing platforms), implemented into the SAP tool and interfaces, and translated into Business Process flows and SOPs by the key user.

Essential Functions Of The Job

Works closely with the local team/work stream leads (Supply Chain, Commercial Distribution, Quality, Finance, VAT, 3PL implementation), as well as the implementation lead from the software vendor KPMG, from 3PLs and e-invoicing platforms to ensure that Rhine project roll out is:

  • Delivered on time and within budget, in conjunction with the PM from the vendors.
  • Cross-functional alignment on the business topics are addressed in a timely manner
  • Keeps the consistency in the documentation from the Target Operating Model, to Macro Designs, SAP organization structure, through to the Business process flows

Supports/coaches The Work Stream Leads In Achieving Their Tasks

  • From the angle of the business area (Country/Finance/Tax/Supply Chain/Distribution/QA /MDM), create/define or update the business process flows in such a manner that the individual department responsibilities and tasks are clear and are a coherent part of the integrated business flows.
  • Translate the business process flows into transactions that can be executed, with the assistance of SAP Architecture either on SAP or auxiliary systems or forms.
  • Create the list of test scenarios, create the test scenarios (with support of the implementation partner), and test the solution (with help of users as applicable).
  • Translate the business process flows into new or amended organization structure and positions within the department.
  • Capture Business Process Flows into coherent SOPs for the respective department or workflows
  • SAP related tasks, identify and specify new or updated transactions, forms and reports that support the department business processes in an efficient and effective solution.
  • Arrange that training material is prepared and execution of training is planned and executed in a timely manner
  • Coordinates w the CSV team members to ensure all CSV deliverables are prepared and signed on time.
  • Escalates to program management and local MT in case issue arise that cannot be addressed within the project team members
  • Organizes and prepares project meetings and tracks progress on open actions.
  • Prepares weekly status reports and calls as well as driving steering committee meetings from the business process angle.
  • Supports the Rhine Program management team in the preparation of sponsor committee meetings.
  • Drives project through Go Live and Hypercare, coordinates the various issues that may arise on cross functional level or with the vendors (KPMG, UPS, Thomspson Reuters), if the topic is exceeding a pure IT topic.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Lead/coach the workstream leads and collaborate with the KPMG functional lead consultants as needed to achieve the project milestones.
  • Motivate the team members to achieving the targets, within scope defined, time and budget restrictions. Cost overruns to be approved, as well as scope and timeline changes
  • Escalate when issues arise to the appropriate level within Project Rhine management or Department Management
  • Monitor project budget and timelines as per agreements in place w the Vendor – escalate to Rhine management team as needed.

Education & Qualifications

  • Business school / University level
  • 5+ years of project management in pharma/medical devices industry, w knowledge of area Supply Chain/Distribution/QA/Finance
  • Fluent in written and verbal English
  • Strong interpersonal skills, can do attitude and problem-solving skills
  • Bring a positive demeanor in the face of challenging situation
  • Good to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook and SAP and Smart Sheet

Travel: 30% -50% based on project phases.
