Business Developer Hydrogen (f/m/d), 80-100%

In order to develop our hydrogen activities, Alpiq is looking for a Business Developer Hydrogen to support the company growth in international markets. You will identify and develop hydrogen production and commercialisation projects and contribute to the development of partnerships. The position offers you the opportunity to work in a fast-growing sector and to bring your contribution to the energy transition.The initial focus of the role will be on the development of projects in Italy and France and the job’s location is Switzerland.

Main main responsibilities

• Identifying business opportunities
• Developing networks and partnerships in the industry
• Formulating business plans and investment cases with internal and external experts
• Structuring and leading project development: Securing support from public support schemes, structuring commercial aspects (e.g. electricity supply, hydrogen offtake), managing contractual aspects, contributing to the preparation of internal investment requests, coordinating projects with internal experts in charge of hydrogen technical aspects
• Following closely regulatory developments and perform innovation and market intelligence
• Promoting Alpiq hydrogen activities and projects in public forums
• Collaborating closely with Alpiq’s local teams in Italy, France and other countries

Your qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Finance or other relevant discipline
• Ideally, a postgraduate formation in renewable energy, business administration or project management
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in Business-, Strategy-, Business-Development
• Excellent understanding of the energy sector in particular, as well as with a focus on the Italian market and networks
• Solid finance and business development skills, keen eye for opportunities, good intuition, and ability to create and demonstrate value
• Good negotiation and influencing skills with both external as well as internal stakeholders
• Independent and self-driven
• Fluency in English as well as Italian and/or French
• Willingness to travel frequently
