Category Manager

Applicants from Switzerland and Germany are both welcome, as this position can be filled either in Steinhausen (Switzerland) or Berlin (Germany).

We are seeking a dedicated Category Manager to join our dynamic Marketing & Omnichannel department within Sonova Audiological Care. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible to manage, drive and expand a dedicated part of the product and service portfolio. Furthermore, by leveraging your business acumen, commercial background and data-driven mindset, you will actively manage and steer the category performance from Marketing to Sales, support local and global deployment of products and services within the assigned category, monitor the sales forecast and actuals.

Your tasks

  • Develop a strategic mid- to long-term plan for category development
  • Serve as the primary contact person for the assigned category for both local markets and corporate stakeholders
  • Actively manage the product lifecycle and category, making updates based on consumer insights, sales analysis, and local market feedback
  • Identify opportunities and gaps in the category portfolio through portfolio analysis and propose new products and service offerings accordingly
  • Create an exit plan for unsuccessful products and services
  • Influence pricing strategies to optimize category performance and maximize returns
  • Prepare comprehensive go-to-market strategies and packages for the category’s products and services
  • Develop promotional tactics, including packages and other marketing materials, to drive sales within the category
  • Conduct thorough analyses assessing the category performance, incl. KPI tracking, sales, basket and channel analysis
  • Analyse data and insights to report against industry and consumer trends regarding the category products’ and services’
  • Effectively share category performance best practices and drive implementation across local markets
  • Provide guidelines for in-store and online product displays
  • Create training materials and other marketing and sales assets necessary to effectively commercialize products within the category

Your profile

  • University degree in marketing, business administration or similar field of study
  • 4+ years’ of working experience in marketing, product marketing or category management
  • Data driven mindset with strong quantitative skills and thorough problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to build a strong network with different stakeholders in both the local markets and in the HQ in Stäfa
  • Solution-oriented workstyle with the ability to work independently and drive topics forward
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
