As the TMo Chief of Staff (CoS) you will be an integral part of TMo’s leadership governance. You will have a leading role in creating TMo’s strategic agenda, linking these to organisational goals and pRED’s strategic horizons. You will also work closely with the Head of TMo, driving new drug discovery initiatives and supporting scientific operational activities. The TMo CoS will report to the Head of TMo, and will be based in Basel.Your Impact
  • Be an active member of the TMo governance, working closely with the Head of Strategic Programmes and Initiatives, and the Head of Operations in crafting and executing TMo’s strategic agenda
  • Drive and represent TMo in relevant initiatives, with an emphasis on strategic scientific and portfolio impact, including identifying gaps and developing strategies to address these
  • Connect the portfolio, project and scientific information and translate it into insights for the TMo Leadership Circles
  • Thought/sparring partner to the Head of TMo on strategic and scientific topics, responsible for providing insights and perspectives and ensuring the Head of TMo is well briefed on activities and events
  • Act as an ambassador of the Head of TMo, support and/or deputise for the Head of TMo on an as-needed basis and create strategic and scientific content for key events
  • Participate and organise selected advisory/working groups to ensure holistic, enterprise-wide alignment and best practice sharing at all levels
Your ProfileYou have a strong scientific background in drug discovery and are passionate about pushing the boundaries of science to discover and develop the medicines of the future. You are motivated by driving change in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment, you are challenging the status quo and manage ambiguity positively. You bring strategic system-thinking and are able to combine it with your attention to detail and the ability to drive initiatives to completion.In addition you will bring the following skills and experience:
  • You have an advanced degree in life sciences, including the application of computational sciences to drug discovery
  • You have 5+ years of proven strategic leadership in the drug discovery industry
  • You are able to define priorities, focusing on areas that add value and aligning these with TMo’s strategy agenda
  • You bring excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record in relationship-building, stakeholder engagement and working at senior levels
  • Your strong written and oral communication skills allow you to transform complex topics into clear and concise messages
  • You are an independent self-starter and proactive in identifying opportunities for creating impact across TMo and pRED
