As the premier supplier to our client, a leading commodities company based in Switzerland, Swisslinx is looking for a highly motivated individual to take on a challenging role as a Cloud Engineer.

Our client is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer who will be instrumental in bridging the gap between our Global Infrastructure Team and business requirements of our clients, to optimize, implement and maintain our organizations cloud-based systems.

You will be reporting to the Computer Platform Manager in Switzerland the role requires a split of operational activities and assisting / designing and managing cloud projects to maintain and enhance the cloud services consumed by our client’s group.

The overall Global Infrastructure team comprises of members spread across 2 European locations making interaction with colleagues and an ability to travel nationally and across Europe is a pivotal requirement. The nature of the role also entails some working outside of normal office times so flexibility to working hours is also essential.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of new technologies within a large systems environment by advising on design concepts and changes, implementation strategies and deployment timelines
• Manage development, testing and deployment of cloud technologies to determine capabilities and cost-benefits relationship, develop ongoing cloud systems solutions that meet performance and budgetary requirements
• Ensuring compliance with operational requirements to ensure that the systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats, performance, reliability and scalability
• Create through documentation records of design specifications and instructional manuals as necessary
  

Your background

• Fluent in English. German would be a bonus, both languages need to be at a good level both written and verbal.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a similar role.
• Cloud Architecture, Design, Operations & administration.
• Experience with CI/CD systems.
• Terraform / Infrastructure as a code.
• Kubernetes / AKS
• Docker containers
  

Considered Advantageous

• Degree in Computer Science or relevant field
• Experience as a Cloud Engineer
• Knowledge of oil or fuel business
• Azure, AWS, OCI certifications
• Security and recovery knowledge
