Job Purpose and Impact

The Corporate Accounting Specialist will strengthen a small Geneva-based Corporate Accounting structure, reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager and coordinating with local finance teams as well as with teams based in shared services locations, to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of day-to-day accounting activities. In this role, you will contribute to establishing and maintaining accounting policies and fiscal controls, as well as prepare financial reports, US GAAP and Swiss statutory financial statements and generally safeguard the organization’s assets.

Key Accountabilities
  • Execute moderately complex accounting policies and procedures.
  • Lead all aspects of the day-to-day accounting operations required to support the production of financial statements.
  • Coordinate accounting processes that are executed by other accountants.
  • Apply substantial understanding of accounting practices and procedures to guide other accounting personnel in creating technical accounting report packages, both US and Swiss GAAP.
  • Coordinate the production of financial statements with the various teams involved in preparing reporting activities
  • Support and where possible, lead Corporate initiatives and projects to be implemented in Switzerland .
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Advanced data analytical skills for using spreadsheets or business intelligence tools.
  • Experienced leveraging financial and business systems to monitor business activities and aid in decision making.
  • Experienced working with multiple businesses or international business experience.
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Proven track record of preparing US GAAP and Swiss financial statements
