Your role

In your role as Credit Risk Officer - IB Financial Institutions, you’ll:
  • evaluate counterparty credit risk through fundamental
analysis of both quantitative and qualitative factors in
financial statements, capital structures, and financial
models in order to recommend internal ratings, LGD and
credit limits
  • assess counterparty exposure and evaluate transactional
risks associated with various lending and derivatives
trading activities in accordance with our credit policies
  • prepare written counterparty periodic reviews/credit
proposals for submission and presentation to authority
holders, providing recommendations on appropriate limits
and credit conditions
  • interact with internal business partners and
counterparties to conduct due diligence and obtain
relevant information to complete credit requests and
clarify issues that may arise
  • participate in the transaction structuring and negotiation
of legal documentation
  • monitor the credit portfolio quality pro-actively and
ensure high quality stewardship as expert in risk
governance

Your team

You’ll be working in the IB Credit Risk Control team in Zurich-Opfikon. This role is responsible for the credit assessment, monitoring, control and transaction decisions of UBS’s counterparties, which primarily encompass all financial institutions and the largest corporates in Switzerland as well as insurance companies in EMEA and UBS internal entities globally.

Your expertise

  • a university degree or international equivalent, preferably
in accounting or finance
  • minimum 3-5 years relevant work experience
  • strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
  • solid knowledge of corporate credit analysis, financial
markets, derivative products, financial accounting
concepts, as well as banking operations
  • language skills in both German and English; additional
knowledge in French or Italian is a plus
  • an excellent communicator, both written and spoken
  • a good team player and energetic to deliver excellence
