Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Crisis Management & Resilience Director (New Consumer Health Company). This position may be located in Skillman, NJ; São José dos Campos, Brazil; Zug, Switzerland; Singapore (Science Park Drive, Ascent); or Remote.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.      

It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.     

Job Description

The Crisis Management & Resilience Director provides project management and coordinates all the relevant functions across NCHC for natural (e.g., hurricanes, floods, earthquakes), wartime, socio-political, economic, technological, environmental risks (e.g., hazardous materials spills) and/or disaster situations that impact our employees, facilities, or product flow to customers. This role coordinates with cross-functional team to plan and prepare for contingencies and provides direct disaster response to the Global and Regional Crisis Management Teams. The candidate also executes crisis management & preparedness training or Tabletop exercises (TTEs), prepares and coordinates emergency plans an enterprise level and design policies, procedures and guidelines for the organization. Finally the role support the emergency project management implemented al local and regional levels through recovery, including status reports and progress updates to senior leadership.

Responsibilities / Job Duties
  • Assessment, Program Planning: He/she is partnering across functions in response to emergencies and coordinates response teams for developing, coordinating, and managing all emergency planning, execution, and recovery activities.
  • Emergency Project management and Implementation: He/she manages the Operations Command Center for the disaster management, integrates the information as the Fusion Center, coordinates disaster response or crisis management activities, provides project management to ensure the execution excellence of the portfolio of actions,
  • Progress Update: Prepares emergency situation status reports that describe response and recovery efforts, needs, and preliminary damage assessments.
  • Disaster Program Support:
    • Keep informed of activities or changes that could affect the likelihood of an emergency, as well as those that could affect response efforts and details of plan implementation.
    • Prepare plans that outline operating procedures to be used in response to disasters or emergencies, such as hurricanes, nuclear accidents, and terrorist attacks, and in recovery from these events.
  • Engagement: Develop and maintain liaisons with external parties either directly or through internal groups such as Operations, Government Affairs, Media Relations, and Facilities, in assisting municipalities, county departments, industry associations, and similar entities to facilitate plan development, response effort coordination, and exchanges of personnel, supplies and/or equipment.
  • Engage also with Cross Functional Stakeholders such as Operations, Facilities, Human Resources, Legal, Government Affairs, Corporate Security, Communications, Information Technology (IT), Global Health, Procurement, Quality
  • Crisis Management & Resilience playbook establishment, governance, training and escalation process
  • Best Practice / External: Attend meetings, conferences, and workshops related to Crisis Management to learn new information and to develop working relationships with other emergency management specialists.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA is a plus)
  • Experience: have critical experience in complex decision making and leading a multi-disciplinary, multi-national team under difficult circumstances, preferred with crisis management and large-scale project management experience
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage large scale projects in highly dynamic environments
  • Communication: Well developed written and oral communication skills. Able to communicate clearly and sensitively with internal and external stakeholders. This includes effective negotiation and representation skills.
  • Resilience/Adaptability and flexibility: Ability to operate effectively under difficult circumstances including stress, time pressure and uncertain situation
  • Work style: Is well planned and organized even within a fluid working environment and has a capacity for initiative and decision making with competent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to think and make decisions under pressure
  • Innovation: Ability to think outside normal approaches to identify innovative solutions to challenges presented and have can do attitude to break through status quo barriers
