Your role

Do you know what it takes to deliver change successfully? Do you want to expand your knowledge in transfer pricing? We’re looking for a Financial Analyst to:

  • lead, support and deliver timely change initiatives relating to hard transfers that are executed by the HT COE RTB team.
  • institute appropriate change governance to ensure changes are communicated effectively to key stakeholders and manage expectations regarding key challenges and dependencies
  • collaborate and work with IT ensuring the timely deliverable of key projects enhancing the hard transfer landscape and on-boarding of new hard transfers onto the central automated platform, FS PER ( SAP based calculation engine)
  • assess simplification opportunities of existing calculations on-boarded to FS PER and reduce operational complexity and risk.
  • work with Group Tax and the Business, implement financial modelling changes to simplify and standardize calculations currently configured on FS PER.
  • review current manual hard transfer calculations and assess what can be further centralized and automated.
  • assess tactical efficiencies that can also be leveraged in lieu of a strategic solution to enhance the control environment - settlements and commentary collation process as examples.
  • co-ordinate new ’New Business Demand’ and present through various stakeholders such as business, financial controllers and Group Tax, ensuring they are accurately configured in the calculation engine.

Your team

The role is within the GEAC (Group and Entity Accounting & Controlling) team, relating to HT - Hard Transfers (HTs) also sometimes referred to as Transfer Pricing (TP).
Transfer pricing is a mechanism by which revenues and costs are allocated intra-group to ensure that subsidiaries or branches are appropriately rewarded for the activities they perform and risks they undertake or are charged for the organizational resources they consume. Such transfers are necessary to ensure that revenues and costs ultimately reside in the ’correct’ legal entity / branch. Such transfers are required to be performed on an arm’s length basis to ensure accuracy of the financial accounts on a legal entity basis. Accurate financial statements of all legal entities with the UBS Group are essential in generating correct tax payments in each tax jurisdiction.
A new Centre of excellence related to Hard Transfers is being created to support end to end ownership of transfer pricing postings across the UBS Group.

Your expertise

  • a university degree ideally in Finance or Business Information Technology
  • ideally 4+ years of experience as business analyst ideally in Finance projects and/or within a management consultancy
  • excellent stakeholder management skills given multi stakeholder (Finance, Business, Group Tax, IT) and senior management exposure
  • strong business analysis, requirement gathering, design and implementation skills
  • demonstrated leadership capabilities and deliveries under constrained timelines.
  • knowledge of transfer pricing in terms of application, methodologies, and impact from a financial and regulatory reporting perspective (is a plus).
  • proficiency knowledge at MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT)
  • additional knowledge in relation to Alteryx, SAP, and other IT skills/background (is a plus)
  • a strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills in German & English,
  • a fast learner and self-starter,
  • able to work and structure large data sets and
  • willing to go the extra mile
