Program Manager & Portfolio Specialist


What you will do

In this challenging and important role, you are responsible for the Laboratory Automation Program Management, LSB Portfolio Analysis and LSB Process Owner. You will manage large multi-stream development programs and will be responsible for overall project roadmap in cooperation with Product Managers as well as internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you will be coordinate the mid-term and multi-year plan spend and resource planning.


Responsibilities will include

Program Management:

  • Ensure that complex, critical strategic development programs are developed according to plan
  • Coordinate the interfaces between multiple project streams and maintain high level overview
  • Mitigate risks of external impacts, especially regarding go to market planning, including coordination with Production, Tax, Legal, Regulatory, etc.

LSB Portfolio Analysis:

  • Ensure that current year and multi-year plans and project scopes are defined and on track
  • Analyze impacts of deviations and recommend executive decision when necessary
  • Represent LSB in R&D budget and midterm planning processes

LSB Process Ownership:

  • Assure an effective and efficient execution of the product portfolio management and the idea management process by constantly monitoring and optimizing the processes and methods utilized and by facilitating the interfaces to other organizational units
  • Systematically identify, define and evaluate innovative products and solutions and manage them in the product portfolio to maximize the economic value of the product pipeline
  • Assure a well-stocked product pipeline and systematically gather and evaluate promising product and solutions ideas

What you bring along

  • University degree in Business or equivalent
  • At least 2 years sales experience in product development with multi-project streams and/or pre-sales within a matrix environment in the life science industry
  • Solid experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Knowledge of change management and experience in selling solutions (hardware, consumable, reagents, service)
  • Ability to work within tight timeframes and communicate with executive stakeholders
  • Passionate, enthusiastic and results-driven
  • Fluent English language skills, German would be a plus
