Delivery Systems Process Engineer (M/W)

Your next role ?

As a DS Process Engineer (M/W), based in Vernier, you will work under the trusted leadership of our Industrialization Chemist.Your main responsability will be to work independently and proactively on complex encapsulation systems from synthesis to characterisation and support industrialisation pilot runs in the factory. You will autonomously construct experimental plans, perform experiments and document the results with a high degree of scientific interpretation.

In this exciting role you will :

  • Industrialize and pilot processes to manufacture existing and new products (from R&D to production) ;
  • Conduct synthesis independently, including experimental design and literature searches ;
  • Develop, validate and implement analytical methods ;
  • Have an highly polyvalent mind-set (switch projects swiftly) and flexible working hours ;
  • Optimise the powder drying by atomization ;
  • Design experimental plans guaranteeing output and efficient use of resources ;
  • Analyse and interpret scientific data autonomously, condense the main conclusions in written form with a high degree of technical knowhow ;
  • Resolve technical problems and ensure actions are taken when experiments deviate from expected results ;
  • Support Operations on existing technologies and give support on making improvements with the production teams ;
  • Monitor and report progress on industrialisation activities. Manage projects and push them forward, reporting bottlenecks early enough in advance ;
  • Perform maintenance on lab equipment and facilities ensuring compliance with lab safety policies ;
  • Participate to Continuous Improvement initiatives ;
  • Defend and implement new processing tools, maintaining the DS lab at the peak of encapsulation technology ;
  • Be part of the team of delivery systems technology experts in Vernier and support in different initiatives whenever needed.

Your success profile includes :

  • Bachelor degree in chemistry or chemical engineering ;
  • Experience with Delivery System technologies and in a synthesis laboratory ;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of encapsulation polymerisation and formulation ;
  • Experience in process development, simulation and automation would be an asset ;
  • Good knowledge of the atomization processes, chemical substances and hazardous materials
  • Fluent in French and English ;
  • CAD (3D) skills would be an asset (e.g. SketchUp) ;
  • Strong autonomy, communication (written and oral) and organisation skills ;
  • Problem solving, rigorous and methodic approach ;
  • Pro-active and team-player ;
  • Be ready to travel (3-5 time per year).
