The J&J Supply Chain is an integrated, global supply chain that serves the needs of the 1 billion people who use J&J products each and every day around the world. We manufacture more than 26 billion product units per year, from raw component sourcing to end product distribution as efficiently and effectively as possible with high quality, compliance and service performance. Our supply chain organization makes up 45% of all J&J employees, and includes 125 internal manufacturing plants, manages 581 external manufacturers, utilizes 459 distribution centers, partners with over 3700 direct suppliers, produces over 300,000 sku’s.

End-to-End Orchestration & Operating System (E2E O&OS) is a critical capability within J&J’s Supply Chain (SC) Strategy, Innovation, & Deployment organization and has a pivotal role in the synchronization of our E2E SC to meet our evolving customer expectations.

The Director, E2E Performance Design & Deployment is part of the Global E2E Operating System & Performance Management team and sits within the broader SC Strategy, Innovation & Deployment (SI&D) organization. This is a key leadership role and an important enabler to unlock enhanced customer value. The person in this role will demonstrate strong experience in supply chain, end to end thinking, digital competence, and ensure proper linkages to the digital strategies of partner functions (Source, Plan, Make, Quality, etc.).

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and operationalize E2E SC performance management capabilities in partnership with digital product owners, J&J Technology, and cross-functional business users.
  • Drive harmonization and standardization of business processes, data, reporting and analytics solutions to unlock efficiencies.
  • Lead cross functional team to understand and support sector needs and translating business requirements into SC performance capability solutions to deliver short, medium, and long-term goals.
  • Lead project management efforts and shape the evolution of next generation performance measures and scorecards. Adopt an agile implementation approach focused on the business value and the customers. Mentor and coordinate team effort.
  • Lead organizational change and activation activities in support of metrics usage and adoption across the Enterprise.
  • Support cross functional efforts that enable advanced planning and performance capabilities at an accelerated pace. Identify and lead test and learn initiatives and scaling of solutions to achieve key business outcomes.
  • Drive business awareness and adoption of new SC performance capabilities/technologies and advanced SC processes.
  • Understanding, aligning, and ensuring strong communication of the strategic vision for the performance metrics and capabilities to enable business growth.
  • Strong critical thinking, with outstanding analytical, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Shape solutions with strong communication, and partnership skills.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills to appropriately influence and communicate with key partners; ability to communicate up, down, and across a large, global organization.

  • Comfortable with constructively challenging the status quo and looking for new ways to improve processes and results
  • Implement core, foundational project management practices, including slide development, “story-telling,” “progress vs. plan tracking,” following-up with owners of key activities, and holding team meetings across various groups.
  • Design, develop, and utilize key process improvement techniques and tools.
  • Clear ability and strong motivation for coaching, lateral management.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of wide-ranging experience in Strategic Insights, Business Strategy Development, or Performance Management.
  • Minimum of 7 years of Supply Chain experience in Supply Chain Planning, E2E Value Chain Management, or Performance Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading and running large, cross-functional programs and projects in a global environment.
  • Experience with Agile Product Development Methodology.

Preferred
  • An Advanced degree in Science, Business, or Engineering (Master’s or PhD).
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Experience utilizing Lean Six Sigma principles.
