Together, we create a culture defined by curiosity, responsibility and humility, where our talented people are empowered and inspired to bring forward extraordinary life-changing innovation at speed.Role MissionWe are seeking an independent and creative scientist with unique experience to drive exploratory research and drug discovery efforts for neurodegenerative disease projects, with a strong focus on the blood-brain barrier. We are a multidisciplinary team focused on advancing cutting-edge technologies to improve the delivery of antibodies to the brain in order to develop novel therapies for neurodegenerative disorders. In a highly cross-functional and collaborative environment, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative approaches to develop the next generation of Brain Shuttle-based treatments for patients with devastating neurologic disorders.Your Impact
  • Develop novel tools to investigate receptor cell biology at the blood-brain barrier
  • Validate the use of in vitro blood-brain barrier models for molecule profiling and new target discovery
  • Actively contribute to ongoing efforts on receptor discovery and/or characterization with hands-on experimental work or through establishment of academic collaborations
  • Lead and support translational research projects, including championing a strategic research plan, leading a cross-functional project team of preclinical scientists, reporting on progress to a diverse group of basic and clinical scientists, as well as defining deliverables and deadlines
  • Independently design, execute, analyze, interpret and communicate experiments
  • Demonstrate scientific excellence by publishing and presenting at scientific meetings
Your Profile
  • PhD in Cell Biology, Neuroscience or other relevant areas with substantial post-doctoral and industry experience.
  • Outstanding track record of expertise in human in vitro models (e.g. organoids, microfluidic chips) and their application to address therapeutically relevant questions in Neuroscience.
  • Deep expertise in cell biology methods to investigate transmembrane receptors, including biochemical, proteomic and transcriptomic approaches
  • Experience with generating and characterizing disease models will be an advantage
  • Flexible mindset to work on innovative platform approaches as well as different projects/molecules, with the motivation for problem solving and generation of high quality data packages
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, organization, and presentation skills
  • Driven by scientific curiosity and commitment to patients
