Job Description

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Finance department, including general accounting, AR, and AP functions.
• Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial information, such as balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows, in accordance with local and US-GAAP standards.
• Review and validate journal entries and reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Drive the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
• Collaborate with external auditors and address their requests, ensuring a seamless audit process with no deficiencies.
• Support and contribute to accounting projects, such as the transition and implementation of a new ERP system.
• Recruit, train, lead, and develop a team of 12 professionals, including 3 team leaders.
• Foster a high-performing and collaborative team environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Act as a key point of contact for financial matters, providing guidance and support to stakeholders within the organization.
• Maintain a deep understanding of IFRS or U.S. GAAP standards and ensure compliance in financial reporting and processes.
• Implement and enforce best practices, internal controls, and policies to optimize efficiency and accuracy within the Finance department.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and provide financial insights for decision-making processes.
  

The Successful Applicant

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. Additional certifications or further education in the Finance domain would be advantageous.
• Proven track record of 5-7 years in Finance, with a focus on financial management, reporting, and analysis.
• Strong leadership skills demonstrated through experience in supervisory or managerial positions, with the ability to effectively develop and mentor teams.
• In-depth understanding of international accounting standards, such as IFRS or U.S. GAAP.
• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Advanced proficiency in utilizing financial software and tools, with a particular emphasis on Excel.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, consistently meeting tight deadlines.
