As the premier supplier to our client, a leading commodities and natural resources company based in Switzerland, Swisslinx is looking for a highly motivated individual to take on a challenging role in their HQ, as a Financial Analyst, permanent.

In this role, you will operate as a finance department link between the commercial departments of Marketing and Sales and Supply Chain and Logistics. The main responsibility is to ensure that long dated liquid chemical sales are matched with the associated shipping and storage costs and incurred across the globe, to generate a true gross profit view.

Key responsibilities

• Global Netback Reconciliation – the person will be working with global data from the company’s three locations Asia, US and Switzerland. They will utilize the information to generate an accurate and timely netback reconciliation monthly. This work will be performed at both group and intercompany level and will be used to settle monthly Netbacks with the two key Producers.
• Preliminary Price Calculation – based on an agreed process, using commercial assumptions, from all parts of the company, preliminary prices are calculated as the basis for the Initial Purchases of Methanol.
• Accrual calculation – In order to present timely, relevant, and accurate pricing information, especially at month or year ends, accruals for goods still in transit, or in storage, at our own risk, must be made.
• Support in Finance reporting (MRP) and cost analysis – as part of the monthly reporting package the person will be preparing reports that support the financial statements and explain the Inventory commercial background to the Stakeholders.
• Cost analysis – on a rolling basis the cost positions must be monitored and variances as well as gaps reported, to act on a timely basis, whenever anomalies appear. The incumbent will run cost analysis reports on an ongoing basis, to reinforce this Control.
• Customer performance analysis – to support the M&S team with data, to enable them to make customer specific decisions.
  

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in a similar role or in Treuhand role/environment
• Strong communication, analysing and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite to manage stakeholder and other impacted party expectations
• Curiosity for complex formulas and ability to work with great volumes of data
• Strong knowledge of operations and supply chain terms, including Incoterms
• Knowledge of commodity market environments is a plus
• Fluent English language skills required. Knowledge of additional language(s) is highly valued
• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP/ Index Match formulas, Power Pivot, Power Query)
• Strong PowerPoint skills needed
• Good Desk Top Publishing skills a bonus
• Strong understanding of the way an ERP System handles data and how to extract reports from

• Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is mandatory, Monday and Friday remote
