Position Summary

As a Consumer Marketplace Insight (CMI) Business Intelligence Expert, you will manage and provide regular reporting and analysis to the European Nescafé Category team, leveraging all sources of syndicated data. You will also provide business information systems to facilitate use of all consumer data.

This is an opportunity to become a true business partner and establish strong relationship with all aspects of the business (Marketing, Portfolio, Finance). This role is for an experienced Continuous Data manager who is able to deal with complexity and brings consistency, accuracy and clarity to the table, so that teams can spend more time discussing how to act upon the learnings, rather than trying to understand the numbers!

This role is for someone who can work with internal and external stakeholders to provide the widest and deepest possible market view at speed.

A day in the life of a CMI Business Intelligence Expert Nescafé

  • Provides business information systems to facilitate use of all consumer data (Audit, Panel etc.) for an above market use.
  • Analyzes multiple data sets and create output that helps inform the business about market dynamics and competitive activity (not limited to Nielsen, IRI, GFK, Kantar but also Euromonitor & other sources).
  • Creates new and improved techniques/solutions for data collection, management, and usage - including PBI.
  • Liaises with the markets in a planned and organized way to integrate additional local data and input to improve robustness and representativeness of the analysis.
  • Interacts with internal Nestlé shared services like the Analytic Service Line team and the Integrated Business Services team, in order to bring further efficiencies, quality, and automation to our reporting systems.
  • Contributes to management of overall European syndicated research budget and works with local insights managers, NiM and Nestle centrally to optimize contracts (costs and services) on all syndicated data.
  • Coordinates and implement with research partners the extra-analysis needed and guarantees the quality of processes and analysis.
  • Communicates effectively throughout the business, brings credibility and objectivity.

What Will Make You Successful
  • At least 6 years’ experience in continuous & syndicated research at Nestlé or equivalent FMCG or syndicated data supplier (like Nielsen, IRI).
  • Experience in FMCG is a must.
  • Experience with retail audit AND household panel data is a must.
  • Familiarity with Nielsen GTC or similar database and familiarity with Power BI or a similar platform.
  • Structural thinking, highly developed analytical skills, ability to work with large amount of data, analyze relationships and interpret numbers.
  • Experience in building databases, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Experience in integrating data from different sources (including Euromonitor estimates and trends, Brand Health Tracking, E-commerce data) to have the best possible view of the category and channels.
  • Clarity of communication, ability to explain complex issues in a simple way and visualize the story behind the numbers in a compelling way.
  • Fluent in English, a second language would be a plus.
