As part of a connectivity team operating in an agile organisation, you design, implement and support networking services for our data centre network fabrics and cloud services.

  • Master complex challenges with BGP, Linux networking and EVPN
  • Automation of network configurations and operational procedures
  • Work with a broad range of new technologies

The team Our dynamic team consists of 6 engineers based in Bern and Zurich. The passion for our products and services is an integral part of Swisscom’s success. We work in an agile organisation, have daily interactions with colleagues from various other ICT disciplines and value flexibility and teamwork. Communication, knowledge sharing and continuous learning are essential for our success.

The project This is a unique opportunity for a candidate with a solid networking background and DevOps skills to get involved with Linux networking and cloud technologies. As a team, we are responsible for designing, deploying and maintaining a data centre network fabric built on open networking principles. To operate on a large scale, the automation of operational procedures and configuration changes is essential.On top of our network services, Swisscom produces several types of Swiss market-leading private cloud platforms. The role offers a lot of responsibility and opportunities to learn and grow.

Your profile

  • Proven datacenter, networking skills, Linux and system administration skills
  • Able to work with DevOps tools (GIT, Ansible, Python, CI/CD)
  • Experience in network virtualisation, preferably VMware
  • DevOps mindset, team-oriented, strong communicator willing to be available for regular on-call shifts
  • Interest in cloud networking, software defined networking and host based networking
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Business Fluency in English
