Position Summary

Seagen is currently launching its first product in Europe in the therapeutic area of HER2+ metastatic breast cancer.

The Regional Medical Affairs Manager (RMM) is a position that requires a strong medical and scientific background in oncology and excellent communication skills. This role includes the provision of strategic, scientific and medical support of our clinical development and clinical trials program in close cooperation with the Head of scientific collaborations and clinical trial support. This role also includes liaison with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and scientific/academic centers to build partnerships and provide scientific/medical support regarding the use of Seagen products, including unlicensed use when requested, as well as supporting and coordinating scientific research and clinical trials relating to Seagen products.

Principal Responsibilities

Strategy and tactics
  • Provides support to the Head of scientific collaborations and clinical trial support with the provision of strategic, scientific and medical insights for an allocated product, group of products or tumor indications
  • Responsible for coordinating European regional medical activities (e.g. advisory boards, investigator meetings, clinical trial site identification and other clinical trial related support activities) and regional/international congress support when needed and in line with the overarching European Medical Affairs plan
  • Prepare or contribute towards the generation of medical/scientific disease area and product educational and training materials, both for HCPs and the internal cross-functional team
  • Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in oncology
External stakeholder management
  • Responsible for identifying and building relationships with HCPs, including Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) as well as study and scientific centers for specific Oncology indications / Seagen products incl. products in development
  • Responsible for providing scientific/medical information and support regarding the use of Seagen products to HCPs, including unlicensed use when requested
  • Provide support with the coordination of scientific research and clinical trials of Seagen products within Europe
  • Acts as a key point of contact and scientific/medical support for HCPs and investigators for the respective allocated products, group of products or tumor indications
  • Establish close relationships and manage interactions with key study centers, scientific societies and collaborative groups for the respective allocated products
  • Ensure that all interactions with HCPs adhere to corporate and healthcare compliance guidance, including those related to clinical trials, scientific interactions with internal and external groups, and responses to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information
  • Travel will be required
Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ in a scientific or medical role within the field of oncology
  • 3+ years’ experience in the healthcare industry or academic research
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work well independently and as part of a growing team
  • Proven ability to establish strong scientific partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced degree and prior experience in a similar role preferred
  • thorough understanding of local compliance, as well as a sound ethical approach to business
  • Fluent in English. Additional European languages are a plus
Education
  • MD, PhD, Pharm D or MD (background in oncology is essential)
  • Oncology experience is essential
  • Prior experience within the healthcare industry is highly desirable
