Research Assistant at the Institute of Technology Management (m/w/d)

25-30% (unlimited, by 15.09.2022 or by mutual agreement)

Your tasks

The Chair of Innovation Management (Prof. Dr. Oliver Gassmann) at the Institute of Technology Management (ITEM) of the University of St. Gallen conducts research in the field of strategic innovation management, business model innovation and the management of new technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) and is seeking, with immediate start or by appointment, a research assistant (25-30%).
As part of the "Emerging Technology Lab" you will work at the interface of technology and innovation management, strategic management and artificial intelligence and support a research project. The main tasks of this position consist of conducting research on the future of work, examining the influence of new technologies and new players in the education sector, and analyzing those developments in terms of potential opportunities and risks.

Your profile

What we expect:
  • Previous knowledge of research methods (literature research, qualitative and quantitative methods, e.g., text-mining)
  • Active interest and initial experience with new technologies, digitalisation, innovation management, and the future of learning and work.
  • High level of comprehension and sense of responsibility
  • Independent, structured and goal-oriented way of working
  • Excellent linguistic skills in German and English
  • Initial work and research experience in related areas (including consulting) would be advantageous.
