To reinforce the Synechron Switzerland team, we are looking for a Senior Database Engineer with vast experienced in DBA, Postgres SQL, Azure within the area of Investment Banking.

This is a permanent position with Synechron Switzerland, and your mission is for one of our clients, a major financial institution in Zurich,with immediate project start.

Your responsibilities:

• Monitoring database performance to ensure optimal performance at all times;
• Supporting the design and implementation of complex changes, including database migrations to Azure;
• Maintaining data integrity by monitoring database activity to ensure compliance with federal regulations on security and compliance;
• Applying database patches in a timely manner to address security vulnerabilities and meet audit requirements;
• Creating and executing backup procedures to protect data from loss or corruption;
• Recommending improvements to database security measures to prevent unauthorized access or misuse of data;
• Providing technical support for an organization’s database applications by answering user questions about database structure or function;
• Developing or testing new database applications using commercial design tools such as SQL Server or Oracle;
• Implementing risk remediation, IOAR, and AMI work commissioned by TOC I&P DAS RISK & SECURITY;
• Troubleshooting and solving incidents;
• Monitoring and analyzing performance issues;
• Working with technical teams to improve stability in databases;
• Providing DBA support for application development and production support teams;
• Implementing operational/change management policies or requests.

Your profile and skills:

• You justifya degree ininformatics;
• You have at least 10-12years of experience in major financial institutions, within database administration;
• You have a strong background in working with Postgres, SQL;
• You have working knowledge with Azureand you are familiar with working on migrations to Azure;
• You are familiar with Python/Shell/Perl;
• You possess knowledge on Automation tools and processes;
• You are experienced with IPsoft;
• You have worked with Kubernetes, Docker and Ansible;
• You are experienced in maintaining CI/CD pipelines;
• You are familiar with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java (Spring Boot, Microservices);
• You are motivated, confident and capable of both working independently and collaboratively;
• You speak English and German;
• You have a valid Swiss work permitor you are EU nationaland willing to relocate to Zurichimmediately.
