ERM Swiss GmbH is seeking a motivated market-facing Consultant to join Central Europe’s Corporate Sustainability Service team as a Managing Consultant, with primary focus on business development and project management to ultimately establish deeper relationships with our clients. The role will preferably be based in Lausanne, Switzerland.The ideal candidate will have an established network of contacts in Switzerland and broad experience and subject matter expertise in corporate sustainability, strategy, reporting, and disclosure, and ESG; she/he will have a proven track record of helping clients design sustainability/ESG strategies, deliver sustainability/ESG reporting, and/or realize strategy implementation programmes. She/he will be a business builder and is able to work with and support a first-class delivery team."The business of sustainability" reflects what we do to support our clients as they strive to attain their business goals. Sustainability is our business.Location:Lausanne, Sierre or remoteJob Type: Full-time, 40 hours weeklyPositionThis position’s key duties will be to proactively contribute to business development activities and to lead client delivery and manage a portfolio of projects within our Corporate Sustainability advisory service area (i.e. sustainability strategy and disclosure). The overall goal is to ensure we make a significant and measurable change in moving companies towards sustainable business modelsPrimary ResponsibilitiesManaging Clients and Projects
  • Demonstrates strong project management skills and oversight through the project lifecycle, including scoping, budget and delivery
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills, excellent writing and presentation skills, and a mastery of PowerPoint
  • Builds strong and trusted relationships with clients and/or business partners
  • Demonstrates expertise relating to our core service areas of sustainability strategy and disclosure
  • Thinks strategically in order to influence decision-makers and outcomes
  • Distils complexity from detail to effectively coach colleagues to deliver high-quality outputs
Business Development Activities
  • Achieves a personal sales target in collaboration with Account Management teams and Business Unit (BU)
  • Shapes new business development campaigns, proposals and pitches
  • Ideally brings to the position strong connections to the sustainability community, including companies and corporate stakeholders
Teamwork and Organization
  • Effectively collaborates internally to bring our services to existing clients
  • Enhances ERM’s capability to sell and deliver Corporate Sustainability services
  • Demonstrates strong people management skills to achieve results
The successful candidate will be accountable for meeting personal billability at a budgeted rate, personal sales contribution targets and other relevant targets.Key Skills & CompetenciesPreference will be given to applicants who have the following key skills and competencies:
  • Graduate Degree in relevant field
  • Fluency in English and German or French. Additional language skills will be an advantage.
  • A minimum of five years of prior experience in an advisory position with responsibilities for project management, client delivery and/or business development
  • Track record in building strong and trusting relationships with clients and partners
  • Structured and effective communicator that can shape and deliver messages to executive level and facilitate effective client engagements
  • Experience of line management and/or contributing to the professional development of other teammates is a plus
