For our new Technology Center in Schaffhausen (Switzerland) we are looking for a


Active Ingredient (AI) Owned Technical Center Director (m/f/d)


Your primary responsibility will be to drive process safety excellence, technology standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across FMC’s owned AI manufacturing facilities. You will also be responsible for ensuring the successful transfer of new products from R&D to commercial production.


What you do with us


  • You drive process safety - implementing the Process Safety Management (PSM) program, specifically the Process Safety Information (PSI) and cyclical Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) process, in alignment with goals from the Process Safety organization
  • You drive continuous improvement – executing process improvement opportunities and implementing standard methodologies
  • You execute new product implementation – leading transition of new products from R&D technical packages to a commercial scale
  • You drive standardization of method and tools across global tech center groups and sites in coordination with the Technical Guardianship group
  • You develop technical talents - attracting and retaining strong technical resources by supporting the growth and development of team members
  • You provide product guardianship for specific product lines and support new product introductions

Your qualification


  • Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Advanced Chemistry with 10-15 years of management experience in the chemical manufacturing industry
  • International management experience
  • Plant management experience, preferred
  • Strong safety leadership and experience with process safety management
  • Experience in the production and handling of hazardous materials
  • Knowledge on process control systems application to a manufacturing plant environment with experience on different types of startups and technology applications.
