The risk assurance control manager will be responsible for securing the operating processes by developing a robust risk assurance control environment in the second line of defense, through the development and formalization of key controls and ensuring their monitoring.
YOUR MISSION:
  • Develop, implement and drive continuous improvement of the risk assurance control plans for the bank’s activities, conduct periodic evaluation of risks to "prioritize" them and be able to participate in "risk mitigation";
  • Coordinate with other functions performing assurance activities in order to ensure there is no overlap and that there exists an effective and efficient collaboration between teams;
  • Monitor audit points, self-identified issues and KRIs in order to ensure the risk assurance control plans take them into account;
  • Conduct periodic control testing for major processes, key risks and controls;
  • Conduct RCSAs review in order to ensure there is no gap in the control environment in the first line of defense;
  • Assist the wider Operational Risk Team with the review of RCSAs and evaluation of operational risk incidents related to a control environment deficiency;
  • Communicate design and operational deficiencies in controls and, recommend corrective actions and improvements;
  • Contribute to follow-up on the timely implementation of recommendations and actions plans and, secure sustainable solutioning;
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners and international teams to ensure alignment on risk management practices and controls initiatives;
  • Participate in the development of the culture of risk management within the bank;
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and data analysis upon request by the Management;
  • Produce risk assurance reports and memos for senior management and governance committees;
  • Maintain Framework Procedures and Business Practices documents;
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving industry and regulatory changes impacting the locations in which the bank operates and its control environment;
  • Collaborate with the bank’s internal and external auditors
DESIRED PROFILE:
  • Prior experience of 5 to 7 years in Risk management, Audit (internal external) or in risk assurance with private banks in Switzerland, with a transversal view of different activities performed within the bank;
  • Excellent knowledge of banking processes and activities including Private Banking, Operations, Trading, etc.;
  • Excellent knowledge of the Swiss regulatory framework and the expectations of the various stakeholders (regulators, external auditors, etc.);
  • Very good knowledge of the field of risk management;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Editorial skills (reports) and procedure development, writing and communication;
  • Ability to build and maintain constructive working relationships with a diverse community of stakeholders
  • A strong team player, who is reliable and independent, able to prioritize and work to demanding deadlines
  • English and French are the working languages both in written and in oral form;
  • Resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate to Switzerland.
