Head of Digital Solutions - Corporate Functions - Your future role?

As the Head of Digital Solutions in Vernier, you will champion the use of data and technology in all aspects of the business and operating model, and all aspects of the Corporate functions of Finance, HR, EHS, Sustainability, and Procurement to create business success and achieve outcomes. Accountable to develop the digital platform/product/solutions vision and strategy and the associated roadmap to execute it.

In this role you will:

Primary Including Management And Operational Accountabilities

Strategy
  • Defines, develops, and shares a strategy, and identifies digital capabilities, products, and solutions for the Corporate functions of Finance, HR, EHS, Sustainability, and Procurement. Assesses external digital opportunities and threats as key inputs to make the best decisions on the strategy that will be needed to thrive in the midterm and long term.
  • Develops strategic understanding of the business, market, and current and emerging trends in technology, and incorporates them into platform/product vision and strategy.
  • Acts as a thought leader, articulate the digital future and the functions’ role in it.
Digital Solutions and Operations
  • Leads the development of product and technology strategy, roadmaps, and execution plans for products. Ensures all aspects of operations run smoothly.
  • Defines digital products, and their architecture and ensures full integration into strategic planning to drive investment allocation.
  • Acts as a champion and change agent in leading the organizational changes required to create and sustain enterprise digital capabilities.
  • Generates innovative digital solutions for products, services, and processes. Identifies technologies to support, enhance and improve platforms/products and solutions.
  • Monitors and realizes all outcomes and identifies the positive impact of the digital initiatives.
  • Coaches and provides direction on backlog prioritization.
  • Develops and executes platform/product governance model. Actively communicates platform/product vision and progress to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Defines and reports outcomes and digital business KPIs and metrics that represent progress against digital goals.
  • Builds and maintains external relationships in academia, as well as with industry bodies, and technology partners to learn and influence.
  • Develops, manages, allocates, and governs the annual budget for the data and analytics initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
  • Develops a strong partnership with respective Executive Committee members and all relevant stakeholders and ensures two-way alignment on strategy, roadmaps, investments, deployments and outcomes.
Leadership / People Management
  • Leads product teams in executing the strategy, roadmaps and enterprise’s digital business mission. Incubates new enterprise capabilities.
  • Organizes, leads, and constantly improves the organization’s capacity to develop digital solutions. Defines organizational skills and capabilities, and job roles, recruits candidates, and leads a team of experts.
  • Coaches and invests in developing people and talent within their organization and across IM&T, ensures HR global processes are cascaded, and defines success planning within the entire organization to ensure a sustainable and efficient organization.
  • Supports functional partners to build digital talent.

Your professional background includes:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field of study, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 15+ years of digital or IT domains — recently at or near the executive level. Broad strategy, leadership and business experience is desired, and within the vertical industry is a plus.
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
  • Proven experience in establishing and leading product-based organizations.
  • Proven experience in integrating complex and cross-enterprise processes.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Excellent technology acumen, industry/business acumen, and interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines at a senior level to influence and effect change to achieve common goals.
  • Extensive knowledge in one or more of the Corporate functions Finance, HR, EHS, Sustainability, Procurement
  • Demonstrated leadership; proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary talent teams in advanced technology domains and delivering solutions.
  • Experience in strategic technology planning and execution.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively drive business, culture, and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment.
  • Proven experience/capability in developing a framework for product/platform governance, as well as in influencing and embedding it in all relevant levels of the enterprise.
  • Deep understanding of the evolving digital world on both how people/companies are using technology and on emerging technologies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to functional/operating partners, as well as business concepts to technologists.
  • Strong influence and negotiation skills.
