Role:
Acting as the Chief of Staff to the Senior Vice-President Global Manufacturing Network (GMN), you will be responsible for the implementation of our GMN Governance, ensuring full execution of our TechOps/GMN Strategy with related Roadmap and projects. You will also be responsible for driving our Global Operational Excellence maturity improvements with a clear focus on Performance and Continued improvements across the Manufacturing Sites Network.
Overseeing an End-to-end integrated network (including internal and external Sites), you will drive related strategic initiatives and ensure execution/implementation via an efficient Operational Excellence Strategy with an aligned Performance Management infrastructure (Balance Scorecard, coherent Site Roadmaps, PMO, Governance and Performance monitoring).
Member of the GMN Leadership team, you will represent GMN in various governance bodies and interacting closely with the Manufacturing Sites, with all Global functions (TechOps Strategy-Risks-PMO, GQA, Procurement, Global MTS, Global HR, Global Engineering-OT-EHS, Corp Communications, IT, Controlling) and other TechOps Leadership teams.
Reporting to you will be the Governance & Digital Manager, the GMN Strategic Projects Realization Manager, The Head of Global Operational Excellence with a dotted line to the Site Operational Excellence Heads.
Main responsibilities:
  • Work closely with various TechOps stakeholders in leading the development of the GMN Strategy with clear plans for implementation, including opportunities to streamline operations, disrupt the current business model and challenge the status quo
  • Network OpEx strategy definition and execution facilitating the definition of the network’s long & mid-term vision, as well as the strategy to achieve it. To ensure that the network of Manufacturing sites (including third-party manufacturers) is functioning as a world-class manufacturing and supply organization, driving related initiatives and ensuring execution/implementation via an efficient and aligned Governance and Performance management infrastructure
  • Guide end-to-end strategy deployment and propose adjustment for existing strategies (Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Digitalization, etc. )
  • Continuously monitor performance to determine if Strategy execution need to be adjusted or new strategies introduced
  • Consequently design, monitor and adapt the GMN strategy and long-term capability roadmap, including footprint considerations and analysis, growth and productivity initiatives as well as cost efficiency
  • Carry out alignment of projects with strategic objectives to ensure that projects are contributing to growth, competitive advantage or other key drivers
  • Performance Management- Support the business and functional leaders in translating Strategy into actionable and quantitative plans
  • Manage our Balanced Score Card processes to support the leadership team in setting strategic goals alignment and cascading them down; ensures action and resource requirements are properly aligned to allow for those goals to be met, and ensure alignment of Performance Management & monitoring systems across the Network
  • As Chief of Staff to the SVP GMN serving as strategic advisor, challenging sparring partner and counsel. Trusted partner providing operational support for the realization of our TechOps/GMN Strategy
Required Experience & Competences:
  • Master degree in Engineering, Lifesciences, Economics or equivalent, ideally seconded by an MBA
  • Minimum of 15 year experience in leadership positions in Operations /Strategic roles in Chemical/Life science/Biotech industry
  • Experience in top-tier consulting Firms a plus
  • Relevant experience in enterprise change, strategy definition and implementation, strategic planning
  • Experience in leading major Operational Excellence transformations
  • Six-sigma black belt – Lean expertise
  • Ability to work at all levels of the organization
  • Able to build relationships, to negotiate & influence, and manage change in matrix environment
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team player, result oriented
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Fluent in English and one other European language
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
