We are a truly international community with more than 100 different nationalities amongst the 1500 day, 200 boarding students and 450+ staff. They come together on a green, village-like campus covering 8 hectares. Students follow international and national curricula, with English, French and Bilingual programmes.

We are seeking an interim Head of Human Resources (maternity cover) within our School !

In this role, you will oversee the CDL HR strategy and operations as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. You will lead a team of 5 HR professionals and 2 receptionists and will report to the Director General and Regional HR Director of Nord Anglia Education.

As Head of HR, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Oversee the HR programs including, but not limited to:
    • recruitment & onboarding
    • compensation, benefits, and leave
    • performance and talent management
    • recognition, engagement, wellbeing
    • training and development
    • disciplinary matters; disputes and investigation
  • Lead the team by offering support and guidance in operations, setting departmental priorities, and ensuring that assignments are successfully completed.
  • Actively contribute to the Equality Diversity Inclusion and Belonging initiatives and stand against discrimination.
  • Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring onboarding and talent management.
  • Support school SLT and Management teams by providing HR advice, counsel, and decisions.
  • Supervise payroll by reviewing and approving monthly variances aligned with internal policies and protocols.
  • Review and sign off all HR administration documents whilst ensuring internal processes are duly observed (i.e. approval chains) as well as compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Monitor the main HR KPIs (compliance, data & HR systems integrity, staff headcounts & resources, absences), and take action accordingly.
  • Report headcounts to Finance and Group as per defined format and deadlines. Analyse data and provide recommendations accordingly.
  • Participate in the school budgeting exercise by producing the people resources plan against targets and requirements in collaboration with the Finance team and Group HR.
  • Review and sign off travel budgets and invoicing to families in collaboration with Finance.
  • Participate in strategic school projects by articulating HR implications, identifying and communicating potential risks and benefits, and providing the HR input needed to move the project forward.


The skills & qualifications we are looking for:

  • Master’s Degree in HR or Brevet Fédéral
  • Sound knowledge of Swiss regulations
  • Experience of minimum 3 years as an HR team leader
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focused
  • Very good command of Excel and comfortable with usual IT tools
  • Bilingual French-English
  • Knowledge of interview techniques, coaching, mediation and project management
  • Ability to prioritize, well organized
  • Able to work under pressure and handle a large volume of work
