Job Description

As a key resource of the HR Operational Services team, the HR Legal Advisor will have a pivotal role in drafting, enhancing and maintaining the full set of HR policies and procedures and at the same time acting as legal counsel for HR and labour law matters. This role is crucial in managing legal risk within HR, including identifying and mitigating labour law risks. The resource is expected to become the reference person within the HR department on the assigned activities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop standards, draft and implement documents to maintain an effective set of HR corporate governance documentation: policies, regulations and procedures, including introduction of new ones.
  • Analyse the effectiveness of HR documentation, perform research and provide recommendations to ensure continuous improvement by anticipating potential policies or procedures changes and integrating labour law developments and best practices.
  • Provide accurate and timely employment and labour law expert advice to HR colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Provide legal support in the management of labour law legal cases and manage effective working relationships with external lawyers.
  • Make sure documentation and contract templates are continuously kept up to date (i.e. employment contracts, other agreements, work certificates, etc.).
  • Assist with the development of required documentation for new and/or changing business processes.
Skills And Experience
  • Swiss university degree in law.
  • Excellent knowledge of Swiss labour law.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the role, either at company in-house function or at legal firm.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and oral, is a must; French or Italian are a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing complex or multi-stepped procedures and related communication.
  • Attention to detail, with high level of accuracy.
  • Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information; integrity and commitment to the highest ethical standards.
  • Strong communication skills: able to thoughtfully structure key messages and convey complicated topics in a straightforward and concise manner.
  • Strong organisational skills: able to work independently, effectively handling multiple priorities and delivering in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills; able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
