The Position

As a member of our Products team you will be responsible for product innovation and sustainable solution in the Product Unit (PU) Work Spaces, Public Seating & Customized Solutions. You act as an industrial design and innovation expert, collaborating closely with Vitra’s independent author designers, internal and external partners. In this role you report to the Head of PU.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead research projects and discover key insights that translate into impactful solutions.
  • Develop new product concepts utilizing sketching, drawing, renderings and computer modeling techniques.
  • Concept, design and testing of parts, as well as verification and optimization of the design on models and prototypes
  • Work in cross-functional teams, with iterative feedback loops and sprints using agile methods
  • Collaborate creatively with designers and model builders
  • Apply new materials and technologies with enhanced focus on sustainability
  • Ensure a product solution can be made reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments
  • Lead project meetings, deadline monitoring and responsibility for fast paced project development progress
Your Qualifications
  • Master or Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or related fielding
  • In-depth working experience using sketching, parametric and subD modelling
  • Algorithmic based modelling skills is a nice to have
  • Passionate about introducing sustainable materials and to be part of a revolution in sustainable thinking
  • Creativity and high enthusiasm for innovation with a strong user-centric thinking
  • Team player and collaborative mindset
  • Curiosity, common sense, positive attitude, willingness to get things done
  • Knowledge of agile methods (e.g. Design Thinking)
