Job Description

BACKGROUND

A review of the Finance Department has been undertaken to ensure that the department is fit and ready to support the organisation as it embarks on its new 5-year strategic cycle, “Gavi 5.0”. As a result, Gavi’s financial planning, forecasting and analysis has been consolidated under a newly created “FP&A” team tasked with improving the forecasting and performance management processes. This role will support the team as a whole in achieving its aims, including but not limited to, supporting the Budget process and the development of Management Reporting.

KEY RESULTS EXPECTED
  • Effective support to the team in achieving its goals for the budget and reporting project processes.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
  • Support the team during the Budget 2023/24 project process, including:
  • Collection and consolidation of submissions, ensuring 100% completion;
  • Analysis and sense-checking of the submissions;
  • Assist in the production of the budget papers for Finance, the Audit Committee and Executive Office reviews;
  • Provide technical and process support for the budget providers in the Secretariat;
  • Integrate budget submissions into management reporting;
  • Assist in the design and delivery of a new suite of timely and accurate Management Reporting supported by driver-based commentary and analysis in accordance with the agreed budgeting, planning and reporting cycle. The project scope includes:
  • Providing performance management reports which contribute to cross-functional performance

reviews;
  • Leveraging the SAC reporting tool to develop dashboards, analytic tools, etc. Incorporate forecast and budget performance into the reporting of actuals
  • Ensure the new tools support organisational decision making (integrating financial management reporting into cross -functional performance management tools);
  • Raise and address issues as they arise
  • Support preparation of Audit & Finance Committee and Board Performance Management papers and other ad hoc work as it arises;

Work Experience
  • Demonstrable experience and/or interest in public-private partnerships in health/development;
  • Strong systems skills, in particular Microsoft Office and BI analytic tools;

Skills/Competencies
  • Process driven and rigorous – while maintaining flexibility and focused on delivering results;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to establish congenial and effective working relations;
  • Excellent written communication skills, demonstrated ability to transform data to insight tailored to the audience at all level internally and externally;
  • Excellent financial modelling skills, in particular within Microsoft Excel;
  • Knowledge of management reporting systems, SAP/SAC will be a bonus;
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Integrity and principles-based work ethics.

Languages
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written;
  • French is a plus.

Academic Qualifications
  • Degree in related fields (e.g. finance, business studies, accounting, quantitative studies).
