Job Description

Joining Intuitive Surgical means joining a team dedicated to using technology to benefit patients by improving surgical efficacy and decreasing surgical invasiveness, with patient safety as our highest priority. Within Intuitive Surgical, EMEA Legal acts as an enabling function to

• actively support the business in pursuit of sustainable goals,


• stand for a culture of ethics, care and responsibility, and


• empower surgeons to serve patients.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The position is based at the Intuitive offices in Freiburg i.Br., Germany or at the European head offices in Aubonne, Switzerland. It reports to the European head offices based EMEA Legal Counsel supporting the Middle and Eastern Europe (MEE) Region. In a matrixed functions / geographies set-up, the position provides and relays legal support to various activities in MEE jurisdictions across functions, in coordination and with guidance from the European head offices or HQ Legal Counsel in charge . Supported areas include:

• Relay Corporate / corporate secretarial for MEE (HQ / Aubonne driven)


• Public procurement (Aubonne driven)


• Customer Finance (Aubonne driven)


• Clinical Affairs (Aubonne driven, serving MEE internal clients)


• Medical Affairs (Aubonne driven, serving MEE internal clients)


• Marketing in MEE (legal review of marketing materials and legal framework for events, advertising and promotion)


• Market Access and customer benefits optimization in MEE (GAVE – MACA – Genesis)


• Customer training (PEPS, training center agreements implementation)


• MEE Media relations and communication


• Real estate and areas related thereto

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Qualified in Switzerland or Germany (Volljurist). Law firm experience preferred.


• Excellent legal drafting skills in both English and German.


• Ability to drive pragmatic legal outcomes, working across jurisdictions to ensure global consistency while allowing for local specificities (comparative law thinking acumen).


• Understanding laws, regulations, Industry Codes and best practices governing industry in MEE jurisdictions.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German


• Excellent presentation skills in English and German
