THE ROLE
The Strategic Sales role operates as member of the strategic sales team and is responsible for the ownership and execution of sales campaigns deemed strategic in nature e.g. are large in value or deemed strategic with significant potential for expansion within the account. The role is responsible for managing a structured bid team process comprising many functions across the Temenos organization. This will extend to understanding the clients full architecture and business/IT challenges, strategic direction & imperatives, development and deliver a compelling client proposition, managing the delivery of PoCs etc. All of the relevant resources needed will either be dedicated or prioritized to support strategic sales engagements. This will be in collaboration with the regional sales team but led by Strategic Sales. Candidates must have a proven track record in strategic sales, both on premise and SaaS, and a detailed knowledge of banking and the operations of a bank. He or she will also need a sound knowledge of the Temenos products and propositions and be capable of operating at all levels, especially C-Suite. Suitable candidates are likely to have at least 15 years’ experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex (virtual & physical) bid teams spanning multiple organisational functions.
- Own the formulation of compelling proposition(s) for each opportunity and lead the Bid Team in line with this proposition.
- Achieve sales targets.
- Commercially astute and knowledgeable of on premise and SaaS models. Ability to craft winning commercial propositions with Temenos revenue recognition rules.
- Lead contract negotiations to conclusion. Reasonable legal knowledge in relation to key software and SaaS contract terms is required, albeit with support from Temenos legal counsel.
- Comply with reporting requirements and ensure SFDC is up to date at all times including Dealmaker and Altify account planning.
- Perform such other duties, functions and services, consistent with status or vocational ability, as may from time to time be required.
- Sales skills:Proven track-record of Tier 1 and 2 account development and big ticket successful sales in the banking and financial services sectors on an international basis.
Ability to deal with people at all levels within an organization, and show and demonstrate negotiating skills with key decision makers.
Demonstrate good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to establish interest, trust and credibility. - Subject Matter Expertise: Solid experience of some or all of retail, commercial and private banking. Experience of software solutions for some or all of core banking, digital banking, analytics, payments & financial crime is desirable as is a sound grasp of associated technologies including Cloud.
Ability to credibly articulate deployment options and most importantly articulate the business value to be derived from the solutions and various options. - Educational & Proficiency level: Preferably, a university education in relevant business disciplines, preferably with a post-graduate degree.
