Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
As part of Global Supply Chain Management, Global Indirect Procurement is responsible for the strategic category and supplier management of all indirect categories. Under consideration of innovation, cost, quality and availability we strive to develop procurement to a competitive advantage for METTLER TOLEDO. To complete the team of category managers in Switzerland we are looking for a highly motivated and skilled professional to start or to proceed its career as an Global Category Manager IT. The main goal of this position is to lead strategic procurement for IT as well as related categories and to work with internal stakeholders achieving both competitive costs and terms for METTLER TOLEDO.

The following responsibilities will be assigned to you in this role:
  • You will develop and execute global category strategies in close collaboration with key stakeholders as well as lead competitive bids, sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations
  • Further, you will manage multi-unit, cross-functional IT procurement projects that bring tangible benefits
  • Meet cost reduction targets, mitigate contractual risks and increase Global Indirect Procurement’s reach while assuring sustainability and performance of the supplier base
  • Furthermore you will effectively perform supplier management by leading supplier performance reviews and by holding collaborative sessions with suppliers (including senior management) in alignment with internal stakeholders
  • Last but not least you will drive change within the team and with stakeholders as needed for initiatives through demonstrating strong leadership

What You Need to Succeed
  • You have a bachelor or master degree in IT, business, economics or related field and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, consulting, key account management or related field in a globally operating organization with IT focus
  • You have experience in contracting, procurement and dealing with IT stakeholders and IT suppliers
  • You are proactive, self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset combined with solid financial acumen, SAP knowledge is an asset
  • You are a tough negotiator with proven project management skills, able to deal with complex initiatives and to lead through persuasion with all levels and cultures
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with a proven record of successfully presenting to all levels of a global organization, German skills are a plus
  • You possess solid financial acumen and strong analytical skills using Excel
  • You are open for international travel depending on business needs (approx. 10%)
