SMS Logistics is looking for a fulltime candidate to fill the position of Logistics Development Manager. This position has no fixed location. It will be connected to our headquarter in Lucerne (CHE). This will be a global role creating alignment on Projects, potential process developments, services and technology potential and continuous improvement. You will report to the Vice President SMS Logistics.

Your mission

As the Logistics Development Manager you will be responsible to

• Lead the logistics development team.
• Create alignment on Projects, potential process developments (internal view), services and technology potential (external view) and continuous improvement by the SMS Distribution Program.
• Coordinate and Secure that the end-to-end processes within SMS Logistics responsibility are developed to be a competitive advantage in service and/or cost, dependent on business priorities and needs.
• Lead project management and defines and develops project management best practices, processes, and policy to ensure alignment with organization strategy and goals.
  
  

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for communicating the SMS Logistics strategy to the Logistics Development organization as well as translating the strategy into priorities and deliverables.
• Responsible to secure that plans for how to develop the processes and areas of responsibilities exist and follow up on execution is done.
• Ensure that all processes have defined KPI’s and reporting structures are in place for monitoring performance.
• Responsible for managing, coaching and developing the subordinate personnel as well as having a good succession plan for key roles.
• Securing that activities of the department are aligned with stakeholders.
• Responsible for securing work environment, Health and Safety for the function according to global and local company policy
• Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of project managers to ensure that all projects within programs are delivered within the defined scope, quality, time and cost requirements.
• Partner with stakeholders to locate opportunities and develop and prioritize programs/projects according to relevant measurement criteria.
• Member of SMS Logistics Management Team
  

Your profile

A University degree in preferably in in supply chain management, logistics or business administration. You have at least 5 years’ experience and a good understanding of supply chain processes, project management and experience in driving continuous improvement in the organisation. You have proven extensive management and leadership experience from direct management on tactical and global level. You have the ability to translate new trends and technology into opportunities for improvement. Extensive knowledge of Lean Management is meritorious.

You need to efficiently work with people in different locations and time zones, communicate with people on different levels and in different part of the organization as well as outside Sandvik. If required you can travel some days each month. Next to that you will be capable of operating successfully in a multi-cultural and matrix organization while being proactive and a result oriented team player. You are a solid business partner on all levels, flexible and customer service oriented
